Amalthia - I continue to not see the problem you described, even copying your exact FFF settings into a new empty library.

At this point, I have to wonder if it's something beyond FFF. The custom column definition, maybe. Or I vaguely recall there are plugins able to lock columns--and you have a number of plugins installed.

Thanks for looking. I'll see about removing the plugins I'm not using and see if that makes a difference.

double-checked that all of the columns are going to the right place? Easy mistake to make.

I checked that first and when I download non-restricted access fics the "additional tags" information is dumped into the genre custom column. It's just not populating for restricted access fics, which is a bit of a bummer and I'm not sure what setting or plugin outside of FFF could have that impact.

At this point, I just want to figure out why this is happening. It's only really impacting a small selection of fics I'm downloading into Calibre.

Hi, to be clear you have a custom column setup for genre and when you download restricted stories, the column is populated with genre type information?

I just want to double check that I'm the only one experiencing this issue.

I tested both download and update scenarios using the posted copy of your settings with a 'Text, shown in tags browser' type custom column without problems. There's 'genre type info' put in the column--from your description I expect it to be empty (or not changed) if it's failing the same way you are seeing.

The FFF code doesn't differentiate between restricted and not-restricted AO3 stories while doing metadata processing. I thought we had determined earlier that it wasn't just restricted AO3 stories and that it did affect title page also. Which would make a lot more sense.

But you appear to have reasserted that it's only the custom column and only restricted AO3 stories. That makes a significant difference in where the problem may lie.

It would make more sense if there's a specific metadata entry value from a specific story or set of stories that's the issue rather than 'all restricted AO3 stories'.

I only recall seeing one example story URL given, which is what I've been testing with.

Hi, this is happening with all the restricted stories I'm downloading into Calibre. Here is another example title: https://archiveofourown.org/works/36599035 here is another restricted story from another fandom: https://archiveofourown.org/works/11761503

I originally thought it was just one author with the problem but I'm finding more examples in my own Calibre library and I tried a few other restricted stories with the same results.

I think what's most baffling is all the other metadata is coming through on the restricted stories. So what is different with genre?

Seems to work now.
No sense spending time to analyze it. I have two computers side by side and may use either one to download. Probably had one FFF not the latest.
