The Other Half of the Grave is the ninth Night Huntress book by Jeaniene Frost. It's $0.99 right now at Kindle US. Or, if you prefer ePub, it's $2.99 and discountable at Kobo US. Even with coupon code Parners22 for 40% off, that's still more than the $0.99 at Kindle UK, but it's still not bad. And it's also £2.27 at Kindle UK...
From the blurb, this looks to be a retelling of the early part of the Cat/Bones saga, from Bones' POV. The Lord of Stariel is free right now again at Kindle US and UK. The links below are still good. The rest of the series is KU, so if you like the series and have KU, you're set. If not, the remaining books are a little pricey at $5.99 each, and don't seem to go on sale very often, at least not that I catch them...

I'm on Sarina Bowen's email list, and in her latest message, she mentions that Little Lies, by Helena Hunting, is available right now for free via Book Funnel. (I don't feel it's in appropriate to provide the link, since you do have to sign up for Hunting's email list to get the freebie, although you can cancel afterwards if you wish...)
link (which I don't think is personalized): https://dl.bookfunnel.com/pjgvf6g40q Spoiler:

Ruby Fever has dropped to $2.99 at Kindle US as part of today's Daily Deal, and it's price-matched at Kobo US. And it's still £2.99 at Kindle UK. The links below are still good in the UK, and here are US links...

What were your favorite reads of 2022?
Impossible for me to pick just one book or even one series as so much depends on my mood. Not all of these were new releases as I regularly read a lot of backlist. So I only limited myself to books read this calendar year. alphabetically by author, then by release date: Under the Ice Blades * by Lindsay Buroker Oct 2015 (Dragon Blood #5.5) Raptor by Lindsay Buroker Oct 2015 (Dragon Blood #6) Shattered Past by Lindsay Buroker Jan 2016 (Dragon Blood World) Gold Dragon by Lindsay Buroker Mar 2018 (Heritage of Power #5) Oaths by Lindsay Buroker Apr 2018 (Dragon Blood #8) Blood Ties by Lindsay Buroker Aug 2018 (Agents of the Crown #2) Eye of Truth by Lindsay Buroker Aug 2018 (Agents of the Crown #1) Elven Fury by Lindsay Buroker Oct 2018 (Agents of the Crown #4) Dragon Tear by Lindsay Buroker Nov 2018 (Agents of the Crown #5) Tangled Truths by Lindsay Buroker Mar 2020 (Death Before Dragons #3) Mist and Magic * by Lindsay Buroker July 2020 (Death Before Dragons #5.5) Storm Forged by Lindsay Buroker July 2020 (Death Before Dragons #6) Secrets of the Sword I by Lindsay Buroker Nov 2020 (Death Before Dragons #7) Secrets of the Sword II by Lindsay Buroker Dec 2020 (Death Before Dragons #8) Secrets of the Sword III by Lindsay Buroker Jan 2021 (Death Before Dragons #9) The Elf Tangent by Lindsay Buroker Mar 2022 (#1**) Sky on Fire by Lindsay Buroker May 2022 (Dragon Gate #5) The Princess Paradigm by Lindsay Buroker June 2022 (#2**) Orbs of Wisdom by Lindsay Buroker Sept 2022 (Dragon Gate #6) Trolled by Lindsay Buroker Dec 2022 (Legacy of Magic #3) The Inn on Sweetbriar Lane by Jeannie Chin Oct 2021 (Blue Cedar Falls #1) Only Home with You * by Jeannie Chin Feb 2022 (Blue Cedar Falls #1.5) Return to Cherry Blossom Way by Jeannie Chin Aug 2022 (Blue Cedar Falls #2) Home for Hanukkah by Rebecca Crowley Dec 2022 (Orchard Hill #4) Teddy * by Nicole Helm Apr 2022 (Jasper Creek #3.1) The Grass is Greener by Loretta Hill Jan 2016 Lightning in a Mirror by Jayne Ann Krentz Jan 2022 (Fogg Lake #3) Hunt the Stars by Jessie Mihalik Feb 2022 (Starlight's Shadow #1) Eclipse the Moon by Jessie Mihalik July 2022 (Starlight's Shadow #2) Savage City by L Penelope Mar 2022 (The Bliss Wars #1) The Monsters We Defy by Leslye Penelope Aug 2022 When She Dreams by Amanda Quick May 2022 (Burning Cove #6) Kiss Hard by Nalini Singh May 2022 (Hard Play #4) Storm Echo by Nalini Singh Aug 2022 (Psy/Changeling Season 2: Trinity #6) An Unexpected Cowboy by Shannon Stacey Apr 2022 (Sutton's Place #2) Through the Rain * by Shannon Stacey Apr 2022 * indicates novella / ** LB’s not officially calling these elf books a series until when and if she writes a third book, so left off series name |

I read 347 books in 2022. There were a lot of audiobooks (which I tend to listen to at 2x speed or more depending upon the narrator) which included numerous rereads. Also to be fair I read/reread a number of novellas. But that's the most I've read since 2014.
I finished Leslye Penelope's backlist except for the Kickstarter project she was part of. I'm waiting to see if she eventually releases her story as a stand-alone. If not I will eventually track down a copy of Three Time-Travelers Walk Into... (but it is pricey and I really only plan to read her story, so I can be patient). My big goal this year was to completely finish reading Nora Roberts' backlist. I had 16 older books (mostly old categories, but also the Circle trilogy and the more recent Chronicles of the One trilogy). So I have now read all 205 of her books, novellas, and short stories as well as everything she's written as JD Robb. I also made a big dent in Lindsay Buroker's backlist this year. My big goal for 2023 is to finish her entire backlist. I also plan to read more of those Harlequin category books, etc I purchased during that big sale a while back. I say that every year and only read a few. I plan to incorporate some of the ones by favorite authors that I already read many moons ago in print. Many of them are no longer publishing so thought it would be a good way to revisit the stories. (I should note a lot of the time the reason I only read a few is because the scanning errors are atrocious so I fix a few then give up.) How was your 2022 reading wise? |
