And I hope Kobo is not stupid enough to go lighter for lousy battery.

It's nice to see someone who can dream. Though I would say the chances that the N605 will not have buttons and a pen are about the same as my dog winning the 2023 Kentucky Derby.

I'll stop reading my 2023 10 inch Aura ONE and I'll give him a biscuit if he makes it!

Sure! And soon Kobo will be the king of the e-ink market, seeing as Amazon will discontinue the Kindle (according to the intuition of this grifter at Goodereader):

I'd modify that to say "and pen capability" - as long as they keep selling them as an optional add on, I'd be happy with buying a new and improved Sage sans stylus

Me too, but not if it's 10'', and not if it has the form factor of the Aura One, and especially not if it's buttonless. I wouldn't want an ereader shaped like the Aura One even if I could get it free, and 10'' is too big for novels. I don't read manga, comics or PDF.

Unfortunately for people with preferences like mine, Kobo seems to agree with you on the form factor, which means people like me who simply can't hold Forma / Sage type devices comfortably but need a larger screen are faced with either having to use a stand or moving to a different platform when our existing devices give up the ghost. It's a shame, as I think Kobo offers by far the best combination of hardware and software, but I appreciate that in a niche market like e-readers, companies simply will not be able to cater to all preferences.

I'm curious, why can't you hold the Forma/Sage type comfortably? If you want to hold it in two hands, you could read in landscape mode.

I can understand the desire to have a symmetrically shaped reader for aesthetic reasons, but I can't imagine the reason why you couldn't hold a Forma or a Sage comfortably. You don't have to use the buttons.

I don't have a problem with buttons at all. I use them quite a bit on my Boox Max 2; but equally their absence doesn't particularly bother me. I have a tremor in my hands which mean that the usual grip of holding it in one-handed in a corner isn't workable. I read with the reader largely supported by my palm and forefinger on the back, with my thumb providing stability on one edge and the other fingers doing so on the other edge. The Sage and Forma are too wide to be held that way. But, they're also too small for me to rest them across my knee and sofa arm as I do when reading hardbacks. So, basically, they fall between the two positions I find most comfortable. Using them with a stand does work, and I'll move to that if I must - I just prefer holding my e-reader in my hand.

I see what you mean. My hands are too small to hold even a 6'' reader that way, so it didn't enter my mind. Could you not hold a square-shaped reader in the landscape mode with two hands, thumbs on the wide bottom edge and other fingers supporting the back and the right and left edges? Turning the page is very easy in this position, just tap the screen with your thumb.

Good grief. He's not even good at math. "I heard a couple years ago (2020) that Amazon would make Kindles for ten years... so at about 2027 support will end..."?

20+10 = 27 in Bad-E-Reader world.

He uses "probably" then asks "why is Amazon doing this?" "Probably" becomes a matter of fact, based on...? (Oh, he talked to "someone.")

I'm guessing that Amazon will first be releasing the new Voyage because he "talked to someone" at Amazon two or three times about that one. Each time he "knew" a new Voyage was coming out.

Just more click bait to keep people coming to his site(s).
