I confess wholeheartedly to a love for Knight's Tale. Well done all 'round, IMHO, even down to the homages.

Don't get me wrong... I am squarely in the camp that enjoyed the movie more, but I recognize a big part of that is simply nostalgia on my part. I watched the movie again (mainly because Disney is pushing it so heavily) and I still enjoyed it. But it's also not hard to see how newcomers might only see it as a hot, cheesy mess. Which was always a part of its charm if we're being perfectly honest with ourselves.
Hmmm...now, I may consider trying it.

Just watched the first episode of 'Tulsa King' with Sly Stallone. Will probably stick with it.

Watched the first two episodes of Echo 3 on Apple TV. "Glacially paced" does not even begin describe how this thing crawls. I think I fell asleep 8 different times in the second episode. Hard pass.

Gave up during episode two of 'Willow'. Whatever worked and was 'magical' in the film, is just not here in the telly series! Continuing with 'Tulsa King' which is a good (if hackneyed) gangster story.

Burnt out (temporarily) on Elementary, now binging on Damages - had forgotten about this series ... holds up well to a rewatch ...

Earlier this week I realized I never watched the last two Pirates of the Caribbean movies. So I rewatched the first three, which I enjoyed. The fourth was okay, as usual I loved Ian McShane (I always imagine him as Father Thames in Peter Grant/Rivers of London book series). I still need to watch the last one, that will happen on Monday.

Since I'm going to stay at my sister's for two nights (we'll be watching Glass Onion and probably The Witcher prequel) I decided to watch my non Christmas Christmas movie, Who Framed Roger Rabbit last night. I also watched Knives Out. Both were, as usual, excellent.

If memory serves, I thought the final POTC movie was pretty abysmal. Was underwhelmed by Glass Onion, too, but apparently, lots of other folks found it humorous. I suspect I'm just...not a real comedy person. (Shocking, I know, you're all shocked to hear that!). Kate Hudson is a living testament to the power of nepotism in Hollyweird.

(Although this is a telly thread--I stopped reading the Peter Grant books. After that last one, with the murder at the tech company--OMG, that book was so tediously boring and bland...The Nightingale is almost totally MIA, the various supernatural beings, the dog Toby, etc. and it's all Peter, all the time, and bloody preggers BEVERLY, as if anyone cares. I mean...really? You'd almost think that the author was pregnant, given the endlessly dreary writing about her.)

I'm hoping that the Witcher Prequel will be fun. Thought I'd save it for suitable Xmas day bingeing!

Glass Onion was okay, it tried too hard to be smart and funny imho.

I loved Blood Origin, the Witcher prequel. My sister didn’t want to believe Lenny Henry played the bad guy.

Re: Kate Hudson, I only saw her in Almost Famous years ago, but in Glass Onion she annoyed me.

I agree. Tried-too-hard-itis.

Well, that gives me some hope...

DITTO, x100. She was just intolerably bad. And no matter how hard I tried--and I swear, I did--I just kept seeing a lesser copy of her mother.

Right now I am watching High Society (Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Grace Kelly, Louis Armstrong, Celeste Holm - 1956). Have seen it before a few times.

Christmas night I watched the Call the Midwife special and re-watched White Christmas. Watched (again) on Christmas Eve The Bishop's Wife and Scrooge (Sim 1951). Re-watched Love Actually the night before that.

Watched the last (latest?) of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. It is indeed the weakest of them all. I did appreciate that after having Keith Richards feature as Jack Sparrow's father in various previous films, we are now introduced to his Uncle Jackie. Played by Paul McCartney.

I also watched the first episode of The Peripheral on Amazon. It's intriguing enough to continue tomorrow.

The 'Detectorists' Christmas special was shown on BBC 1 on Boxing Day in the evening. It is now on BBC iPlayer.
