Sideloaded fonts not showing up in font family
I am trying to use sideloaded fonts on my paperwhite (gen 11 with latest firmware update) and they are not showing up in font family for any of my books. This includes all books in my library not just sideloaded ones. I followed the instructions on the readme file, and the fonts are there in the font folder.

And yes in case anyone is wondering I am using tts files for the fonts.

The most common root cause is the document's format is not support the "Enhanced Typesetting" feature. Only the KFX format supports custom fonts. Other file formats, such as MOBI and KF8, are not supported.

Did you test with the "Kindle User's Guide" (from Amazon)?

KF8 certainly supports custom fonts. Mobi doesn't.

'not showing up in font family', meaning they are shown separately in the available custom fonts? or not showing up at all?

There are rules that determine when a set of TTF/OTF files are a 'family'. I think it is a common font metadata property (Font Family Name), and not just a file naming convention.

You might need an app to view or change the metadata. At least on macOS, Finder doesn't seem to let me see it, and Font Book automatically groups them.

If you use TTC (TrueType Collection) then the TTC contains all of the fonts for that family.

Kindle supports TTF, OTF, and TTC files.
