I am a bit puzzled by this thread.

I thought Sigil was an epub editor, yet it seems that the discussion is about a mobi book being read on a Kindle (that does not support epub).

Surely for Sigil to have any involvement the book needed to be converted from mobi to epub, and back again to read on a Kindle. One, therefore, cannot rule out any conversion software introducing problems in the process.

In defence of the mod who moved the original post (wasn't me). Sigil is explicitly mentioned in the sentence following the salutation.

And all three Sigil mods have posted to this thread.

That's why there's been no recrimination. But in defense of forum rules about relevance and placement: the word "Sigil" being used doesn't actually make it a Sigil topic. A little follow on would have clearly shown the post was about how converted epubs looked on Kindle devices. But as Quoth mentioned above, modding is not a science.

Having already been moved once, I prefer not to confuse/alienate/frustrate new Mobileread members by forcing them to follow a thread that's getting bounced all over the place. But since things seem to have settled, I'll close the thread.
