Are you conversant with ADB, got drivers?
Do you have a spare USB flash drive? Do you have a USB Type C OTG adapter? (Or a Type C flash drive.) If not, why not? |

~Three years ago I worked with ADB. There are drivers.
Yes, 4GB. USB Type C OTG adapter (even two). |

You are talking about a Poke3, right?
Ok, put the decrypted, modified update.zip on a flash drive in the root directory as update.zip Download p9mod.prc (and just rename it p9mod.img). Flash it with "fastboot flash recovery p9mod.img" or EDL or dd it if you are rooted. Reboot recovery You will hear a "bong" of the ADB connecting. 4 seconds later the screen will turn white. Code:
C:\>adb shell # start autoupdate Unplug the cable that you are using for ADB. Plug in your flash drive. Sit back. (Please note if it mentions vfat or exfat.) It should go to completion, then reboot. For latest version see later posts... Last edited by Renate; 04-20-2023 at 06:17 AM. |

How to format USB-flash drive? If 16GB + fat32 or exFAT, writes "Flash partition of unknown type ee".
PS: FAT - "Flash partition of unknown type 0e". PPS: From the 10th attempt, 4GB + exFAT still worked. Sitting... ![]() Last edited by kaznelson; 04-20-2023 at 01:11 AM. |

![]() ![]() Could you do me a favor? Download sdcard.exe from http://www.temblast.com/windows.htm Plug in the nasty EFI drive and see what letter it is. You have to be at an admin prompt. Code:
C:\>sdcard G: efi.prc /r /c32 Did you try another drive? |

2 drives: Corsair 4GB in FAT / exFAT and Transcend 16GB in FAT32 / exFAT. Here is 16GB + exFAT and copied to a file.
Worked only Corsair 4GB+exFAT... as ancient as mammoth dung. ![]() PS: Firmware has completed successfully. Thank you! ![]() Tell please, but will native recovery return after updating the firmware, or does it need to be manually flashed? Last edited by kaznelson; 03-12-2023 at 05:57 AM. |

Understood. Thanks again.
If you improve this recovery, post it in this thread, please. It was an interesting experience... ![]() "Custom recovery" question: If you try to downgrade firmware (3.3.1->3.2.4) in standard way, then process ends in native recovery (manual reboot). Are there problems with custom recovery in such situations? PS: I checked - in such cases it should normally go into native recovery. Last edited by kaznelson; 12-09-2022 at 06:51 AM. |

Here is the latest version of custom recovery for the Poke3.
It is zipped to shave off some size to make it fit in the 20 MB limit here. Sorry, I missed this: Quote:
There is usually a line at the top to prevent downgrading. Last edited by Renate; 04-20-2023 at 06:23 AM. |

For the first time since I bought my Poke3 a year ago I've had to charge it.
That is, I'd never seen it shutdown for low battery. But I never charge it either. It's just connected to my computer often enough for syncing or development. I never pay attention to the battery level. |

Hmmm, maybe my battery is losing.
It just died suddenly and lost a ton of settings. It re-enabled a ton of apps that I had disabled. It reset my gestures to none. It lost all my apps! It reset "USB debugging" (fortunately my USB setup has nothing to do with that anymore). |

Hmmm, when I close the cover to let my Poke3 sleep (which it does) I sometimes find that it has entirely powered down some time later behind my back.
Is there a timeout setting for that? It never used to do that. |

In Onyx settings there is separate time to sleep and to power off. At least in Leaf2.
