Stylus compatibility seems almost random.
Apparently it can vary from one stylus to another, even for what should be identical units — a second (brand new, just out of the box) Staedtler Noris Digital Stylus which I tested began marking almost an 1" above the screen, while one I've been using on my Samsung Galaxy Book 12 worked fine. |

There may be at least 3 kinds of Wacom Stylus (Originals like Serial tablet & USB Bamboo uses, and several EMR types are main groups).
Then there are the systems not compatible with any Wacom type. At least Apple Pencil and the kind that is compatible with MS Surface and Kobo. Unless someone has verified a particular device is 100% Scribe compatible with Wacom EMR it uses, don't buy a 3rd party. Any compatible Wacom EMR is only going to work exactly like the Basic or Premium Wacom EMR with Scribe. You can't get low storage Scribe without Basic Wacom EMR and can't get high storage Scribe without Premium Wacom EMR and AFAIK the only difference is number of buttons. If you get the Scribe for PDFs (and no other reason comes to mind), then you need the higher storage versions that only come with Premium Wacom EMR pen. |

Yes, if the same model works OK, or it did work. The original Wacom always moved the cursor well above the tablet, which was annoying. Pressing to vary pressure or left mouse click.
I misread the post and thought it was 1″ out in Y direction and that it was a different brand to original. Sorry. |

Introducing a different thought, is anyone else having problems opening books from their Kindle library on the Scribe? I find that if I have the book also in an Audible version the Audible is the only one that downloads.
If this has already been asked please forgive and point me to the posts? Thx |

as far as styli are concerned, i have three now. one from the reMarkable, one from the kindle scribe, and a third party (LAMY AL-star black EMR).
in my testing, both the reMarkable and the lamy works fine on the scribe. writing for both styli looks to be exactly the same on the scribe. the reMarkable does not have the extra button, but the eraser works just the same. for the lamy, there is no eraser, but there is a button. and the button functions exactly as the scribe's. i've also tested the scribe's pencil on the reMarkable and it works exactly as expected. and though the lamy works well on the scribe, it doesn't work so well on the reMarkable. first, there is no eraser on the lamy. second, the button on the lamy doesn't do anything on the reMarkable unless i install some kind of a hack. third, for some reason, using the lamy writing on the reMarkable seems off, especially if you use the fountain pen option on the reMarkable. and as far as i can tell for using the scribe's pencil on the reMarkable, everything works as expected except for the extra button, which doesn't do anything on the reMarkable. |

Adjusting the nib helped a bit, but not enough.
So far in my testing the following work: - Samsung stylus from Galaxy Book 12 - stylus from silo of Galaxy Note 10+ - Lamy Al-Star EMR - Wacom One stylus - Staedtler Noris Digital Stylus --- one works, a second begins writing before touching the screen Waiting on a Staedtler Noris Digital Jumbo Stylus, but it's reported to work by others. |

I've never had a problem with one and the easel stand case holds the Kindle level for hands free reading while eating etc. unlike the awful origami cases that never sit level. I will get one if the Kindle case doesn't sit well in easel mode.

There is a point on Sage (but not Elipsa) and iPad and Surface as those can be bought without stylus and the 3rd party ones can be a bit cheaper than Kobo and about 1/4 or less of official Apple Pencil and MS Surface Pen. |

Because I like to have spares, and I really don't like how the KS stylus feels in my hand, and it's nice to be able to switch between devices w/o switching the stylus I am holding.
