Send to Kindle - no series info

I just used, from Calibre, send to kindle by email and no series info was picked up.
I use this templete - ({series}{series_index:0>2s| | - }{title} - {author}) which has worked for many years.
Now I only get Title and author.

Can you help me with this?

That template is in the PLUGBOARD?
Amazon is doing

stuff to e-mailed books.

Solution is to forget sync and Amazon except to buy ebooks and use USB transfer. Ecologically more friendly and private.

Update calibre amazon recently stopped reading title from emailed files. So calibre now has been changed to use the plugboard to generate the filename which is what amazon uses as the title.

You need to use an email plugboard that converts the title into a series + title. Emaila file to your own email address and check that the filename of the attachment is what you expect it to be to verify your plugboard is working.

I'm sorry I can not get any idea you suggest to work. Probably because I do not understand your instructions.
Can you give me something I can copy and paste into the proper place.

I want - (series 1 - title) - to be emailed from calibre to my kindle.

Then see - (series 1 - title) author - in the kindle

I've been playing with Send to Kindle Web. The easiest way to get what you seem to want was for me to do a Save to disc with the following template:

{series:| [|} {series_index:||]} {title} which gives [series #] title
or
{series:| |} {series_index:||] - {title} which gives series # - title

So basically save the books to a directory, drag and drop them onto Send to Kindle web and it seems to work happily.

For me, Send to Kindle web is available at https://www.amazon.ca/sendtokindle. Just change the .ca to .com or whatever for your local Amazon site.

I'm not certain but the problem is that when I was playing with this a couple of days back, I created a metadata plugboard and it seemed to work for me with the book showing up on my Kindle as [Series #] title. However emailing the book to myself did not show the filename as being changed and quite a few comments have been made suggesting that the title was derived from the filename so I am not sure as to how or why it worked. I suspect from previous messages that Kovid is modifying the filename when sending to a Kindle email address.

I've added a couple of images of when I created the metadata plugboard.
