~ Be able to change the Night Light "bedtime" to any time.

I have to get up very early & go to bed early, 9pm as the earliest bedtime just doesn't work because the light change doesn't have time to kick in. I want to be setting that for 5pm or 6pm, so I am not reading white light well before bed.
For people who work nights etc, just let us set any time & not restrict it.

There's an existing patch for that. Customize ComfortLight settings in libnickel.so.1.0.0.yaml.

Hi! I have a couple of questions:

Is there any way to change the bottom menu? I like to replace the 'Discover' tap with 'My Articles', if yes, how?
And put the 'Discover' in the 'More' menu?

Is it possible to show 'My Articles' as a widget on the homescreen and replacing some of the Kobo -store widgets?

Power button double press

So here's another one:

I noticed the patch for "Both page turn buttons go next". Is it possible to create a patch to go back to homescreen (or screen by choice) when double press on the power button?

Currently power button is used to go to sleep or long-press to turn off/on.

Curious about readers thoughts on this one.

As far as I know there's no way currently to add different items to the footer navigation bar.

Have a look at libnickel.so.1.0.0.yaml patch Only show Pocket SmartLink. I don't use it myself but it should make the Home screen's (row 3 column 2) position be set permanently to access Pocket articles.

Maybe you could use NickelMenu to add the menu items you want? You'd have to tap twice (once for the NickelMenu icon, and once to select the item), but it might be more direct than it is now.

Yes this should be possible via a new patch for nickel.yaml but such a patch does not exist at the moment.

Are you already successfully using kobopatch? If so I can probably create a beta patch for you to try.

I've added the beta patch to the main kobopatch thread for firmware 4.34.20097, where it may get seen by more people. If you have any feedback please use that thread rather than this one.

ETA: The patch includes code to remove italics from both the Collections List and the Authors List, because the code is almost identical for each. If you're only interested in the Collections List then you can delete all the lines in Part 1.

Just moved from Kindle to Kobo and am loving it so far. One of my only little annoyances is with how the Cover View works compared to Kindle. Is it possible to reorganize elements of the software to be close to that of a kindle?

The 'read status' badges on the cover itself and the 'more options' button on the cover itself eat up a ton of whitespace on the Cover View page, and shrink the covers a bit much for my liking. Id love to be able to remove those completely and browse by the actual cover in cover view - Even better if the elements can be rearranged to be on top of the cover in a clean way

For Reference:

So, Ive written this two other times now, but I think its being removed from image links I added in the post. Hopefully its not duplicating the post, and I just can't see it.

Moved from a Kindle to Libra 2 over the weekend and am loving it so far. My only minor annoyance comes with Cover View on the Kobo compared to Kindle. Is it possible to rearrange or even remove the 'whitespace elements' of the 'Read Status' and '...' (more options) menu that are listed underneath every cover while in cover view?

Id like the cover view to be closer to the Kindle, where the covers are larger and fill up the space as much as possible, instead of losing out a lot of cover art to the White Space taken up by the two lines under each cover.

I don't know if its possible to completely remove them, enlarge the covers, and maybe even add the '...' menu button as a button on the book cover itself like Kindle does, but an improved cover view with a focus on the Cover Art would be amazing.

That would be more of a GUI re-write than a patch!

I haven't looked in detail, but based on the existing patch to increase cover size on the Home screen it *might* be possible to increase the cover widths in MyBooks Cover View by a couple of millimetres by reclaiming some of the wide left/right page margins but it's not possible to change the basic layout of 8 books in 2-rows x 4-columns. So you'll never get a worthwhile size increase to match the Kindle's 3-column layout.

As for combining the cover image with its caption - I think that's a non-starter for a patch.

I’m having the issue of images and titles in kepubified kepubs have left aligned headers, images and dividers where they should be centred, which ultimately ruins the design of those books. i’m wondering if this could be fixed with patches. i would love to have one for forcing images to centre in kepubs for example.
