In iTunes after connecting your iPad select the Kindle app within File Sharing. Drag and drop the KFX file there. The book will then show up in the Library view of the Kindle app. (See attached images.)

Amazon has released Kindle Previewer version 3.68.0. It is compatible with the current release of this plugin.

Is there any way to allow converted ePub to KFX to have manga mode?
I know I can use Kindle Create to do it, but this method isn't good for converting multiple chapters/files. (Either one by one manually or merging them in one file) Is there any metadata, like fixed-layout metadata, that can trigger manga mode? (before converting to KFX) |

I don't know of any way to do that. This plugin uses Amazon's Kindle Previewer for conversion of EPUBs and that software does not support fixed-layout books. |

I allowed Kindle Previewer to update to 3.69.0 today, but didn't think to check here first to see if it was compatible with the plugin. Do you know if it is?

Have some questions regarding the KFX file and devics
I will be buying a device for reading books , especially .KFX files for it's enhanced typesetting feature on kindle. answering these questions will be much appreciated.
1. What is the best device to read kfx files? i have kindle fire hd 10, realme pad and kindle paperwhite in mind 2. Does Goodreads integrations work well in kfx file in kindle fire devices? Does it automatically update the status on goodreads to 'Reading' as soon as I start reading it? Or do i have to manually do it? 3. How is the GR integrations in kindle paperwhite for sideloaded kfx files? Does it automatically update the status on goodreads to 'Reading' as soon as I start reading it? Or do i have to manually do it? 4. Is there any way to get the Goodreads integration working for sideloaded kfx files on Kindle Android App? GR integrations for sideloaded .kfx files don't work on kindle android app as far as i know. By goodreads integration on kindle android i mean the "About this book" from the 3 dot menu while on a Amazon-bought book. I'm hoping it's the same in Kindle Fire devices as the kindle android app. |

For this to work the KFX file must be linked to the equivalent book for sale by Amazon by setting the ten character ASIN. Quote:

Version 1.65.0 - 16 Nov 2022
Update the conversion option documentation to reflect that Kindle firmware 5.15.1 will display cover thumbnail images for personal documents in KFX format. Detect Kindle Previewer versions up to 3.69.0. |

IMHO, you are best with a device where you get enhanced typesetting and the ability to remove the DRM. |

Got some weird problem here.
Got a (copyrighted) EPUB. Opening that file in Kindle Previewer 3 directly cause no problem, but conversion in calibre failed with this weird error: E21018: Enhanced Mobi building failure, while parsing content in the file. Content: <data-AmznRemoved> in file: OEBPS\text\cover.xhtml line: 4294967295 Which honestly make no sense to me. I tried to pick up immediate EPUB created during conversion and, sure enough, also cause the same problem when I opened that immediate file in the previewer. But there are no <data-AmznRemoved> anywhere in the file (and the line number is just 2^32-1) And since the original file and the file exported from calibre opened fine in Kindle Previewer, I think something calibre did is causing problem... Do you have any idea? I can send you both file via email if you wanted (I still have your email if you haven't change them, but I don't want to send it without prior notice) |

I don’t know what could be causing that error. Go ahead and send the files and I will look into it. My email is unchanged.

The next release of this plugin will remove that style before passing the EPUB to the Kindle Previewer so that conversion can complete successfully. |

I can also confirm that if I removed the <title> tag from the <svg> in question (it's not like the tag is serving any purpose), then it converted beautifully. |

I'm not able to convert from EPUB to KFX. Conversion Failure Reason says Log File is missing. The annoying part is that the logs show the message "Book converted successfully!" right before failing. Had a look at the code on github but wasn't able to figure out whats going on. It seems like some of the output from the conversion ends up in a different folder in \Temp from the one that contains the following log, but that might be intended behavior.
Here is a pastebin with the output |
