The wireless device driver won't update

I keep getting this error. No port selected - IP address is incorrect and I don't know how to update.

calibre, version 6.8.0
ERROR: Problem starting the wireless device: The wireless device driver had problems starting. It said "Failed to allocate a random port"

It means something on your computer, almost certainly some security/antivirus software, is preventing calibre from opening ports. If you are running windows then try starting in safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Also try telling such software to ignore calibre.

Another (rare) possibility is that you have told the wireless driver to listen on a specific IP address that your machine no longer has. If that is the case then remove that customization.

If you (re)start calibre in debug mode then the driver will display information about what it is trying to do.
