AZW3 to paperwhite

I have sent some AZW3 files to my paperwhite and the library shows 2 files with the same name o e is called a document. What is happening?

KF8 is the name Amazon uses for that file format.

Do you see two files of the same name when you browse using a file browser on your Kindle? If you delete one of the two, is it still there? If it's still there, can you read it?

I've been using this kindle paperwhite 10th generation since mid October 2021 this problem started last week. I loaded 2 books from a pc and when l opened the reader there were 4 downloads . One has a black dot with a white check mark the other with the same name had document written below the book name. The one with the check mark opened. The one marked document wouldn't open or I couldn't delete it unless I turned off the airplane mode once airplane mode was turned off and I selected the document file and it downloaded another book of the same name. I've even tried emailing a book I had already read and deleted with the same results.

You have your Kindle in the wrong mode. It's showing what's on the Kindle and what's in your Amazon account.

JSWolf I'm not sure what you are referring to. It sounds like you're referring to the library.

The books in question weren't acquired from kindle so how could I download the second copy from kindle? I don't have any books in my kindle account.

If you emailed it, it was added to your Kindle account.

It looks to me like I_cykle did not email the book at all — the first message seems to indicate it was sent to the Kindle via the PC. The PC transfer resulted in two files of the same title and the only way to delete the one that wasn't actually a book was by turning off airplane mode. At least this is the way I parsed it out.

I think the real question is, why did two files show up on the Kindle when only one was sent from the PC?

I did both. First I loaded 2 books from the pc and as a test I emailed a book to see if I would get the same results.
