Have the same problem. Been using forever and now no email. Resolution: All I had to do was click on send with Outlook. Preferences, Mail. Did not have to change the address I was using, just had to sign in with Outlook email. No worries after that.

Is anyone else finding it is taking ages to send books using Outlook? On average its taking 4½ minutes to send one book 😮

As the note on the page that Kovid linked says "...calibre automatically restricts itself to sending one book every five minutes..." It then gives you instructions on how to reduce that interval. Did you try making that change?

I use an independent email address from GMX/Microsoft but I have the same problem

calibre, version 6.8.0 (linux, embedded-python: True)

According to that error message you are trying to send email directly from your computer, not using a GMX or Hotmail relay. Use one.

in truth I have been using caliber for years without ever having configured gmx and using my email address on Amazon authorized. I've never had a problem forwarding via email. Wanting to configure gmx what should I do? Thanks

I was having this problem also. I checked my mail host settings and revised the SMTP port identified in Calibre. That solved the problem.
