So when navigating voice menus to reach a live person to schedule a doctor visit, what's the record for how many times you have to listen to "If this is an emergency, please hang up and call 911..."?
The other day when my local office didn't pick up it sent me to their parent office, then eventually to "central scheduling" - I wasn't counting but I'm pretty sure I heard it 9 times. |

There must be something in the water, because chronic appendicitis is supposed to be very rare. But I had it last year and the neighbour's son (my age, we grew up together) came over today to tell him his mom is in hospital and was operated on for a burst appendix. She had been having the sweats lately (not as long as I had them) and when she was in the ER they first thought it was a UTI gone septic (with me they thought it was a UTI which had caused a kidney infection).
Luckily she's already feeling better, hopefully her son can get her to take it easy for a while and stop her from lifting heavy things for six weeks. She owns a café and is always picking up supplies and carrying them inside. So I will keep an eye out and help unload when needed. |

The weird thing is that when my father had shingles in March, the neighbour's son also had singles, which isn't common for someone his age. My neighbour and her son have been a great support to me this past year, so I'm going to do everything I can to help them when they need me. |

WHY do you do this? What is the bloody point?
As someone who uses a ton of SAAS (Software-as-a-Service) which means, crap that runs in the browser, to be succinct, I get a lot of upgrade offers, change-your-plan stuff and the like.
I also look at other software, competitors, and all that. Always looking for the most bang for the buck, right? Why is it that today, any new announcement, pronouncement, upgrade, change, requires that to find out WHAT this new "thang" is, you have to engage in some online conference with the sales person selling it? Why, when I ask questions, am I constantly, constantly directed to "here's my calendar link for..."? What is the bleeping problem? TELL ME WHAT THIS S**T DOES and stop wasting my, and more importantly, YOUR GODD*MN TIME. Unbelievable. If you can't tell me what something does, why the hell would I want it? Why would I invest 30 minutes dealing with you? The cavalier attitude of people, about this crap, slays me. If I have something I'm selling, you better believe I believe in it; I can explain it; I've tried to explain it on the site and yes, I'll bloody explain it again, in an email or handouts or crayon pics, if needs must. I won't expect you to drop everything and sign up to meet me, as if I am the Grand Poobah of Whatever-the-hell with Something Rampant on my flag. /grumble. Hitch |

What has happened to the Kohl’s or Whole Foods dropoff for Amazon returns? I’ve googled and can’t find out, although I’m not the only one who’s wondering. With my latest return, UPS was the only option.
And, Amazon! Don’t sell me something from your warehouse as “Like New” when it’s obviously been used and is missing the charger. (See return, above.). Well, I’ll put it on the front stoop for the UPS pickup tomorrow and hope for the best (although they say an adult must be present) but all in all, this has been an unsatisfactory experience. Not to mention - ooh, I guess I am - that the item that was supposed to be delivered yesterday is now coming tomorrow. I get that for whatever reason, even though it was at the local facility, it didn’t make it onto the truck yesterday, but why not today? |

Yeah, we've been missing the Kohl's option too, but we do still have the Whole Foods. Kohl's was great because they always gave some kind of coupon with an Amazon return, so we always combined returns and clothes shopping. I thought it was a brilliant strategy on the part of Amazon and Kohl's. I called Amazon the first time Kohl's wasn't offered, but the CSR had no info on why. |

Where have all the thick, warm cardigans gone? Normally, this time of year they're available. But it looks like all that's available are thin, flimsy cardigans, which just don't work when you work in a store where the door opens often and lets in the cold.
Normally if I can't get a warm cardigan in the women's department I just get one from the men's (less elegant, but as long as it's warm I don't care). But it looks like men's cardigans aren't available. It's all sweaters. I could get sweater but I prefer cardigans. Because: I have big boobs, with a sweater it looks like a huge mono-boob. I have long arms, women's sweaters are too short in the arm for me (somehow less of a problem with cardigans). I can get men's sweaters but to have enough space around the chest area I need to get them super oversized. |

Cat logic: My cat doesn't like me touching her tail. So obviously she sits next to me and waves her tail so that it keeps hitting my leg and that's obviously all my fault.

Your handle says it all, really. You cat is simply being a cat, and it's your job and responsibility to move your leg out of her tail's way. Duh.

Got my latest eBay dead tree book purchase quite quickly, and I'm jazzed, because I'll probably do it next as a MobileRead upload, having uploaded my very first epub to MR just a few minutes ago. (And praying I didn't botch up, either the upload or the epub. ![]() |
