My screen is stuck after a downgrade to an wrong firmware version.
Can't reboot, can't update, can't connect to the it PC does absolutely nothing.

Do you have the Aura Edition 2 version 1 or version 2 hardware. If the 7th character of the serial number is 2, you have the version 2 hardware. The hardware is different and you have to match the firmware to the hardware.

I'm not sure where the serial number is recorded other than looking in the GUI or the original packaging. Since you already need to open your Kobo Aura Edition 2 to access the uSD card, if you can't find the serial number, I would just image a uSD card with one of the two images. If it doesn't work, then try the other image.

If you make an image of your old uSD card, the serial number should be located at the 0x200 mark (look for something like SN-Nabcdefghijkl ). It can also be found elsewhere in the image in the form deviceSerial>Nabcdefghijkl</deviceSerial> and multiple times as Nabcdefghijkl.

The only one I've changed is the one located at 0x200 since after a factory reset, that seems to be set as the serial number.

For the image, use a zip utility to extract the image file from the zip archive and then follow the procedure to write it to the uSD card.

Hi All,

My N236 seems to have gone weird while de-powered for an extended period of time, and won't get past the "Updating..." screen (several hours, have also tried manual reset to no avail). I'm thinking the SD card has gone poof. I'd like to replace it, so I'd like to request an SD .img from anyone who can help me out!
