Copying content from one Kindle to another?
Hoping someone can help me with this please…
I’m soon getting a second Kindle. I use Calibre and have lots of books on my current Kindle. I still intend to use my current Kindle. What I wonder is if I somehow can use Calibre to put exactly the same books on my new Kindle as what is on my current Kindle and if so how do I do this please? (I literally want them to be copies of each other. I do realise that they will not sync once I eg remove a book from one in the future but that is okay) Thanks in advance for any advice. |

Are these books downloaded from Amazon or sideloaded?
If the first: 1. Download the books from Amazon to your new Kindle, or 2. Download the books from Amazon to your PC (using the option "Download and transfer via USB" with your new Kindle as the target) and sideload them to your second Kindle, or 3. Download the books from Amazon to your PC, remove the DRM and sideload to your new Kindle. No direct copying between two Kindles or between a Kindle device and Calibre is possible, if the books are direct purchases from Amazon. If the second: 1. Copy the books on your first Kindle over to your PC and from there to your new Kindle. No Calibre needed. Or 2. Connect your first Kindle to Calibre. Calibre checks the books on your Kindle and marks them with a green tick. Tag the ticked books with whatever tag you like. Then connect your new Kindle to Calibre and send the books you just tagged to the new Kindle. Last edited by Sirtel; 10-26-2022 at 03:24 PM. |

I know what you mean with the green tick for the books you have on your Kindle. I have never used the tag system before. Are you able to do some sort of command to tag “all ticked books” do you know, or do you have to go through them all one by one and tag? Thanks again for your help! |

Search: ondevice: True
to show only ticked books (while device is connected) Ctrl-A (the industry standard for Select All): Tap 'E' for edit metadata (bulk mode because more than 1 book selected): Add Tag: <value to add> |
