Problem is that (the extra wide bezel for) the buttons make it as wide as an 8" reader. I like buttons in theory, but suspect that I'd find a Poke 3/4 more comfortable for holding, when I eventually need to replace my Poke 2. Also, although I like buttons in theory, I cannot remember a reader whose page turn buttons I've been completely happy with in practice.

Huh? Most everything today has both USB OTG and Bluetooth for keyboards.
I've even run two keyboards on one device (with different language layouts).
You can't do that on Windows; all connected keyboards use the same layout.

I'm talking about the keyboard/cover with the "ad hoc" plug, without usb cable or bluetooth paring, like iPad or most chromebook had.

That's right. A user on reddit quoted an official e-mail from Boox stating that these are for the Chinese market. According to the e-mail they will release Leaf 2 and Nova Air 2 internationally.

If the latter has page turn buttons, Carta 1200 and a good screen in general I might upgrade from my Nova 3. What I dislike with the Nova 3 is the material of the back (collects fingerprints like nothing I've seen and feels grimy to the touch) forcing me to keep it in the case it came with; the screen is also slightly unclear in comparison to my other readers.

I bought a Kobo Libra 2 for the screen and page turn buttons. It's a joy to read on, but stunted by the OS. Dictionaries work great for English and maybe Spanish, but venturing into other languages is a frustrating endeavor.

I'm also eagerly looking forward to a 10" tablet from Boox with the new 300 PPI technology.

A good question.
It's hard to get info on this, but I believe it's all dependent on the processor.
For Qualcomm, I think the 845 supports it, but not the 636.
I'll totally guess that the 662 doesn't either?
Better information appreciated.

Edit: Not that HDMI is rocket science. A Raspberry Pi Zero does that for $10-$15.
I use one for a digital signage application running over Bluetooth.

Thanks for the Info! I am a teacher and the only thing that would made me replace my Note2 (that is the only device I use in the classroom) is a reader that I can connect with the Pojector via HDMI.

So, watching the video (and enduring the music) I find that:
The two big things use Qualcomm 665
The little one uses Qualcomm 630

USB Type C connectors may support different "Alternate modes". They are:

• DisplayPort
• Thunderbolt
• MHL
• HDMI

If DisplayPort alternate mode is supported you can use an "active" adapter to get HDMI.
If MHL or HDMI alternate mode is supported you can use a cheaper "passive" adapter.

This still leaves the question of what the heck is supported.

Edit: Hmm, now I'm really confused.
I looked at the kallsyms of my Poke3 (Snapdragon 636) and there are tons of symbols with "hdmi" in them.
I don't own a passive adapter, but I will pick one up and give it a try.
This could be a red herring as Onyx likes to shovel the same stuff into all the kernels.

Edit^2: I'm thinking that just maybe the 662 (NoteAir2) might support HDMI mode over USB. The kernel has interesting things like "typec_partner_register_altmode" which my Poke3 doesn't have.

How do you use it in the classroom? I have started using my Nova 3 to take notes for classes (and during class when I get new ideas), but would be interested in hearing about other workflows.
