Speaking of Overdrive, why is that when I have several books on hold, they all become available at the same time? Since I'm not expecting another power outage in the near future, I need to figure out which ones to pass on for now.

Maybe I'm just being unreasonable, but it bothers me when an omnibus ends on a cliffhanger.

Individual books in a series? Okay, I can tolerate it (though a cliffhanger in the first book is usually enough to put me off). But I kind of expect an omnibus to at least complete an arc.

I'll go a bit further: A Trilogy is NOT A SUBSTITUTE for an ending! So many books I've found recently that have nothing resolved by the end of each "book" in the series. Sometimes they're fun to read anyway, but ... (at least the standard rules of romance require some kind of romantic resolution.)

I remember talking to a then-popular SF author, who recommended beginning writers try to write short stories, as a way of making themselves learn to write endings.

I hate ebook glitches I find on the kobo app for iPad. It repeats the same chapters. Like multiple copys of a chapter in a book? I will finish the chapter, turn the page and the chapter starts from the beginning again. i see some gliches with kindle as well. Some pages or just paragraphs 'repeating"

That's what I thought. I'm not sure if the subjects on Overdrive are user-derived or not. I also couldn't find anywhere to report mistakes.

It looks to me as if the publisher, located in India, is a vanity publisher/pirate and may be out of business at that. I assume they supplied the tags. Now how this particular edition got listed on OverDrive I have no clue, but certainly none of my libraries has it.

Sounds like you subconsciously drift to those. I guess you like space opera? I don't know if I have ever read a sci-fi novel about a galaxy-threatening conspiracy.
