Currently watching 'The Old Man' with Jeff Vridges and John Lithgow. I am enjoying it as a sort of more straitlaced version of the Bruce Willis comedy 'Reds' ie, a former operative is being hunted for something in his past!

I just found it woefully unbelievable. That she'd do it, in the first damn place, seeing what she'd seen; that he wouldn't take immediate, decisive action--maybe this gets resolved in a "the best revenge is served cold" way, later, but...we both just couldn't move past it. It was one of those "OH COME ON, GIMME A BREAK!" things that you yell at the Telly, ya know? I'll be interested if it was simply we two that had that immediate knee-jerk "no way am I wasting more time on this" reaction to it. H |

The one thing about it is that I saw something, saw the reveal. Too early. That was my one reservation about it, but other than that, yes, I liked that one very much. Dang, I'm kinda sorry about the Truth Seekers one. I don't find many humorous stories that I like and for some damned oddball reason, I did like that one. Double-dang. Thanks for the correx! Hitch |

The movie I planned to watch last night has disappeared from streaming. So instead I started watching Archive 81. I watched it when it first came out, but that was when the inflammation in my back was at it worst, so I didn't remember much of it. I also listened to the podcast so it was time for another go. |

I finished Archive 81 and enjoyed it, but I can also see why fans of the podcast weren't happy with the ending, which differs a lot from the original podcast.
I also watched The Invitation. It doesn't get great ratings on IMDB, but I liked it a lot, it was different than most horror movies. |

Last night I watched the first couple of episodes of Truth Seekers. I love how in the first episode they mocked all those paranormal programs; "the door slammed shut.....over nine hours".
I also came across a sci-fy comedy series on HBO, Avenue 5. Now I don't normally do comedy, but this one is with Hugh Laurie, so I might give it a go. Tonight's plan: a couple of episodes of Truth Seekers, followed by a horror movie. I've got loads of those on my watch list, but haven't really watched that many this past month and that needs to be rectified. |

Urgh. I may have to break out HBO Max and binge 5 years of Bab5. Wasn't really on my to-do list, but I'm feeling the scarcity of stuff I feel is watchable out here. More than usual, even. H |

I finished Truth Seekers, and I agree it's a shame it was cancelled. I also watched Candyman: Farewell to the Flesh. Which wasn't that good. For whatever reason it reminded me of The Crow, probably of the dark atmosphere and the rain. It's set in New Orleans, but it doesn't feel that way. I always associate NOLA with bright colours. Might watch the third film tomorrow and the latest one on Tuesday. I'm also trying to find something to watch on Thursday; I'm taking a day off work, since I'm going both my flu shot and Covid booster on Wednesday, so I expect not to feel well that day. So I'll need some comfort viewing. Right now I've the F1 on in the background. |

Before We Die is a pretty good 2-season Swedish thriller about undercover infiltration of a Croatian crime family. The first season was remade in the UK with Lesley Sharp (of Scott & Bailey).

Watched the last Douglas Henshall Shetland episode, and the last Jodie Whittaker Doctor Who episode. Both felt appropriate for the characters involved.

Having watched Doctor Who since it started, I naturally saw the final oting for Jodie Whittaker. Typical Chris Chibnall story, throw eveything in but the kitchen sink and see what works! But I liked it all the same!
