Then it's 6.5 for ever.
FWIW: all of my relatives and my friends (all over 50 y.o) have only 1 monitor :P

Same with my desk, so I stacked my two screens vertically.
Main screen on bottom and most of my work is done there. Top of the bottom screen is at eye level. Not ideal, but it works and now used to it after 4+ years.

I'm going to disagree. Most Calibre users do not use multiple monitors.

So you now are omniscient and know how everyone else does things? Actually, that fits with your commenting style, so I'm not sure why it surprises me. You always make baseless assumptions, whether its about piracy or just other people in general, and open your mouth with nary a thought.

Dang, I was hoping I could last longer before blowing my top. Ahh well, won't happen again.

I personally know 30+ calibre users, a reading group at my local library and some teachers at a local secondary school. Two of the teachers have multiple monitors but as far as I know they don't distribute calibre windows to different monitors, nor the windows of other applications.

Many of the people who spend time at MR are multiple monitor equipped 'techies', but they represent a minuscule fraction of the 3M+ active calibre users.

Having the window not remember its position is a smaller problem than having it popup on incorrect monitors. If and when Qt fixes their bug or I find the time to re-implement window position remembering functionality robustly in calibre code remembering window positions will be restored, until then you will have to live with the window being positioned by the OS.

Mine is Above (I have a post). I tend to put things I 'reference' type on the top and things I work with on the bottom.

See, THAT is exactly what "someone" else should have done. Given real world facts like you did. Now I don't think you can make a valid case for extrapolating from 30 to 3M, but at least you are starting with something real and tangible and not just stating your opinion as fact.

The argument is moot. Kovid already explained his reasoning for not addressing what is essentially a minor inconvenience at the current time. That is (rightfully) his prerogative.

@JSWolf - Please stop stating your beliefs as facts.

As for multiple monitors users, there is another bug : when you move the shortcut icon of Calibre from Monitor 1 to Monitor 2, something very strange occur : the whole Calibre window forgets its position and spans within all the space available on the 2 monitors ! You have to manually resize it every time, or move back the shortcut to its original monitor. Very annoying for people who like to have their shortcuts grouped on one monitor and applications launch on the other. I'm using Windows 10 with nVidia drivers.

I already mentioned this bug here, but got no answer...

Most interesting: I mostly have Calibre pined to the task bar and it opens where I left it (2nd monitor that is OVER the main)
I moved the shortcut to the top monitor, and it opened on the Main (lower)
In both cases, the splash was on the Main. Standard Dell Intel drivers

My setting is different, I have two monitors side by side. Monitor 1 is on the left. When the shortcut is on Monitor 1, Calibre window splashes correctly on Monitor 1, and remembers size and position. When I move the shortcut to the right monitor, Calibre splashes in a gigantic window spreading from the right side of the right monitor to the left side of the left monitor... Haven't tried calibre launch from the taskbar, though.
It could be tied to the nVidia driver, but I doubt it, because no application, so far, happen to behave that way on my system...
