Even not on sale, they are like $4. But yeah, $0.99 is even sweeter. I bought 2 & 3 and set an ereaderIQ alert for #1. Also, went to his website and he says the books can be read independently. But her, I'll wait for the first.

Today's Big Deal at Kindle UK is eleven "Crime, Thriller & Mystery" books for £0.99 each. I'm familiar with a few of the authors, but I haven't read any of these books. YMMV...

Double or Quits is the fifth in the Bertha Cool/Donald Lam series by Erle Stanley Gardner. It's $1.99 right now at Kindle US, unfortunately not matched at Kobo US.

Quote:
The search for stolen jewels and a missing woman yields deadly trouble for an LA detective duo in this hard-boiled mystery by the creator of Perry Mason.

Side by side, Bertha Cool and Donald Lam make quite the odd couple of private investigators. She’s a fifty-something-year-old widow, built like a bulldog, with the personality to match. He’s a wiry, ex-lawyer in his thirties with a lightning-quick wit that always helps him out of a jam, including the one he finds himself in with their latest case . . .

After Dr. Milton Devarest discovered his wife’s jewelry stolen from their safe, they noticed his wife’s secretary was also missing. Certain of what happened, Devarest asks Bertha and Donald to locate the secretary and persuade her to return the jewelry, no questions asked. But when Donald heads to Devarest’s home to get some answers, all he finds are more questions—and a body . . .

The ABC Murders, apa The Alphabet Murders, is the thirteenth Hercule Poirot mystery by Agatha Christie. It's $1.99 in the US today as part of the Kindle Daily Deal, matched at Kobo US.

Agree, the Bishop of Bugolaland is a total hoot! Being from a Caribbean island myself, I really adore the Tampica and St Matthews stories (the British Seaward Islands, heh). Who could resist this storyline "A U.S. Senator is found murdered with a machete on the grounds of a golf club in the Caribbean" - The Coconut Killings. Patricia Moyes' books are GEMS.

First in a new series.
Quote:
A psychic travel agent and a Seattle PD detective solve a murder in this quirky mystery in the vein of Lisa Lutz’s The Spellman Files and Charlaine Harris’s Aurora Teagarden series.

Meet Leda Foley: devoted friend, struggling travel agent, and inconsistent psychic. When Leda, sole proprietor of Foley's Flights of Fancy, impulsively re-books Seattle PD detective Grady Merritt’s flight, her life changes in ways she couldn’t have predicted.

After watching his original plane blow up from the safety of the airport, Grady realizes that Leda’s special abilities could help him with a cold case he just can’t crack.

Despite her scattershot premonitions, she agrees for a secret reason: her fiancé’s murder remains unsolved. Leda’s psychic abilities couldn’t help the case several years before, but she’s been honing her skills and drawing a crowd at her favorite bar’s open-mic nights, where she performs Klairvoyant Karaoke—singing whatever song comes to mind when she holds people’s personal effects. Now joined by a rag-tag group of bar patrons and pals alike, Leda and Grady set out to catch a killer—and learn how the two cases that haunt them have more in common than they ever suspected.

More than a year later, Death at Seascape House is $0.99/£0.99 again in the US/UK. The links below are still good...

In any case, A Death at Seascape House has dropped to $0.99/£0.99 at Kindle US and UK respectively. I don't see it at all at Kobo US.

A Free Range Wife is still the third in the Peckover series, but it has been re-issued with the new title, No Mercy. And for some mistaken reason, No Mercy is now labeled as the ninth in the series. But if you read the descriptions, it's clear they are the same book, and furthermore, the blurb for No Mercy indicates it was previously published as A Free Range Wife. Whew! So...

In any case, the No Mercy version is free right now at Kindle US and UK.

Kindle US: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01FMPNGZI
Kindle UK: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01FMPNGZI

Note that the separate, still-existing, entry for A Free Range Wife is NOT on sale.

The first eight of the ten Evan Evans mysteries by Rhys Bowen are available right now for variously £0.99 or £1.99 each at Kindle UK. It appears Bowen may have gotten the rights back since these are Joffe Books editions. By contrast, all ten are still listed at $11.99 in the US (crazy for old backlist - this was Bowen's first series, back in the 1990s and 2000s) and the three I spot-checked were all pubbed by traditional publisher Minotaur Books.

I really like the Evan Evans series - cozy though it is, it's also quite fun. And now, for the moment at least, you can check it out on the cheap, and even read most of it on the cheap too. Oh yeah, and it's KU in the UK if you have that...

Here's a link to the series webpage: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0B723MF...kindle_edition
