			Also it needs USB-MS or USB-MTP. It's ghastly to copy stuff on/off.

			This move definitely makes sense in light of the Kindle Scribe announcement. ReMarkable is definitely going to have to re-assess its business.

			I’d even wager this is a direct consequence of Amazon’s entry into their market. The Scribe announcement came a week or so after this news, but I wouldn’t be surprised if ReMarkable somehow managed to get prior knowledge of it. They likely got a fair number of sales last week from people who were interested in their devices but were holding out because of the subscription model. Now those people might have buyer’s remorse…

			Or Boox Note Pro and Kobo Elipsa already killing sales of the unremarkable reMarkable. Every review I've seen ignores the massive shortcomings of it.
