Scrubbing a Paperwhite
I want to give my PW2 to a friend. I did a factory reset, but my own splash screen is still showing. Is there a really thorough way to return it to its original state?

[Added Later] - this is no longer available after the reset. I may try signing on again to see if an update is possible.

[Added Later] - As this PW is going to a friend there may be an upside. I am still able to connect via USB and send books using Calibre, so that may be a big plus for my friend. Guess it’s still jailbroken…

If you wish to un-jailbreak, you must do the factory reset (to remove hotfix, hacks, with your personal data) and then update or reinstall the firmware after that to restore the system. You must do BOTH with that order.
