A VERYenthusiastic review, thanks. It ought to have been posted here with a trigger warning though, for some MR users. The reviewer says "I'm not a case guy, I don't typically put my ereaders in a case" - coing on such a shocking statement without warning might be hazardous for some (or at least one) MR user(s)

Hahahaha.

I am a "no-case guy" as well when it comes to "using"ereaders. I do use a sleeve to carry them though.

If I end up buying this it will be for a specific usage, at cafés and the like, where an origami stand case would be very helpful. This little thing could stand on a table without taking up much space at all, unlike my Sage

This comparison is not all that good. He doesn't get it and has the Kobo set to Publisher Default which is why the font looks so weak. Plus, I doubt he's upped the weight any.

I never adjust the weight of my fonts. I must just be easy to please.

Yeah, he's not a professional reviewer, but he has one and we don't.

For sure. I couldn't read without upping the weight (unless the font is bold to start with, but then it's usually too bold). That's one of the reasons I couldn't get used to the Nook and also why I've never tried a Pocketbook.

I still really like my Nook, but in a recent-ish firmware update they removed or changed the rules for hyphenation, so now there are no hyphenated words. To my eyes, it made the layout look worse. Especially since the Nook did an excellent job at hyphenating.

That's a change I'd actually welcome, as I disable all hyphenation in the css for my Kobos (and did so for my Nook as well, when I had it).

But I realize it sucks for those who want hyphenation. I wonder if the Hyphenate This plugin would help? It's meant to add soft hyphens to Kindle books, but works for epubs too, I think.

Yeah, now my Nook ST is better at layout (as far as smartly hyphenating to preserve justification without weird hyphenation choices) than my 2015 Glowlight Plus or my Kobo (kepub with Better Hyphenation dictionary).

So what I take from the video is caring how the Clara HD 2e looks vs the PW5 is not valid in this video. I'm waiting for GoodEReader to do their comparison review as they do know how to shoot decent video even if the review is rubbish.

The plugin won't help as the nook uses RMSDK.

That, and the elimination of the font sizes in the range you actually use for reading, was mangled. I've got a second Glowlight 3 that still has the earlier firmware and I'm not EVER going to let it go online to update (which doesn't work well with using my online library). I guess I'll sell the first Glowlight as it doesn't look like they're ever going to fix either of these stupid changes.

Does anyone know if the Glowlight 4 uses hyphenation?

I'd assume no. All the Nooks from the 2015 Glowlight Plus onward use pretty much the same firmware. (Luckily my ST is old enough it never got 'upgraded' to the hyphenless firmware.)

I just use Constantia on the Tolinos and Pocketbooks. On the Nook, Georgia, using the bold setting, is pretty good.
