In truth I haven’t read them in decades, but I remember them very fondly. And when the price hits 99¢ I can’t resist picking them up.

Her Merlin/Arthur books are some of my favorites, especially the first one, but I've never read any of her others. I should some day but it's a bummer my library doesn't have any in ebook form (other than something called Legacy which looks like an omnibus of the Merlin books.)

Legacy is a bogus eBook. It was published at Smashwords illegally. I've reported it a number of times and yet they do nothing about ti. The Mary Stewart Arthurian books are available in the UK legally.

So you could take a trip to the UK on the ships eBooks.com or Kobo.com to get these.

I also read originally long long ago, but went on a Mary Stewart reread binge a few years ago, and found that, for me at least, they stood up to the test of time quite well.

The Mary Stewart "Aurthurian" (I've only read 1st 3) are OK, but I prefer most of her other books I've read. The "Moonspinners" is better than the film which was miscast and poorer. I've read loads.

Has Legacy just got the 4th book added?
Amazon claims 5 in the series, though they have Heyer books as series that are not.
The Prince and the Pilgrim
£18.94 for all five as Kindle. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00713DNEE

I didn't know there was a 5th book but it looks like Legacy only has the first 4 books per the description in Overdrive. Given that book 5 was published more than a decade after the other 4, I'm not sure how critical it is to the series.

The Bombay Prince is the third and most recent (2021) in Sujata Massey's Perveen Mistry historical series. It's on sale at Kindle UK for £2.34, and in the US for $2.99. I read and really liked the first in this series, The Widows of Malabar Hill, and this one was a finalist for several awards.

Spoiler:
Quote:
Bombay’s first female lawyer, Perveen Mistry, is compelled to bring justice to the family of a murdered female Parsi student just as Bombay’s streets erupt in riots to protest British colonial rule. Sujata Massey is back with this third installment to the Agatha and Mary Higgins Clark Award-winning series set in 1920s Bombay.

November 1921. Edward VIII, Prince of Wales and future ruler of India, is arriving in Bombay to begin a fourmonth tour. The Indian subcontinent is chafing under British rule, and Bombay solicitor Perveen Mistry isn’t surprised when local unrest over the royal arrival spirals into riots. But she’s horrified by the death of Freny Cuttingmaster, an eighteen-year-old female Parsi student, who falls from a second-floor gallery just as the prince’s grand procession is passing by her college.

Freny had come for a legal consultation just days before her death, and what she confided makes Perveen suspicious that her death was not an accident. Feeling guilty for failing to have helped Freny in life, Perveen steps forward to assist Freny’s family in the fraught dealings of the coroner’s inquest. When Freny’s death appears suspicious, Perveen knows she can’t rest until she sees justice done. But Bombay is erupting: as armed British secret service march the streets, rioters attack anyone with perceived British connections, and desperate shopkeepers destroy their own wares so they will not be targets of racial violence. Can Perveen help a suffering family when her own is in danger?

Half a year later, again £0.99 at Amazon UK...

I had an advance review copy of this - it's a bit different than most Felix/Dick Francis books, but I still liked it. if you want to read my review, the URL for my blog is in my signature.

I haven't read A Botanist's Guide to Parties and Poisons by Kate Khavari, which is the first Saffron Everleigh mystery, with a second one coming next June. But it gets lots of points from me for the title, and it looks kind of fun, and it's not self-pubbed, and it's on sale for $1.99/£1.57 in the US/UK right now. So here you go...

Kindle US: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09FPHZJBX
Kindle US/Smile: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B09FPHZJBX
Kobo US: https://www.kobo.com/us/en/ebook/a-b...es-and-poisons
Kindle UK: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09FPHZJBX

Spoiler:
Quote:
The Lost Apothecary meets Dead Dead Girls in this fast-paced, STEMinist adventure.

Debut author Kate Khavari deftly entwines a pulse-pounding mystery with the struggles of a woman in a male-dominated field in 1923 London.

Newly minted research assistant Saffron Everleigh is determined to blaze a new trail at the University College London, but with her colleagues’ beliefs about women’s academic inabilities and not so subtle hints that her deceased father’s reputation paved her way into the botany department, she feels stymied at every turn.

When she attends a dinner party for the school, she expects to engage in conversations about the university's large expedition to the Amazon. What she doesn’t expect is for Mrs. Henry, one of the professors’ wives, to drop to the floor, poisoned by an unknown toxin.

Dr. Maxwell, Saffron’s mentor, is the main suspect and evidence quickly mounts. Joined by fellow researcher--and potential romantic interest--Alexander Ashton, Saffron uses her knowledge of botany as she explores steamy greenhouses, dark gardens, and deadly poisons to clear Maxwell's name.

Will she be able to uncover the truth or will her investigation land her on the murderer’s list, in this entertaining examination of society’s expectations.

Calcutta, 1923

Set at a time of heightened political tension, beginning in atmospheric Calcutta and taking the detectives all the way to bustling Bombay, the latest instalment in this remarkable series presents Wyndham and Banerjee with an unprecedented challenge. Will this be the case that finally drives them apart?
