David will be sorely missed. He was great a resource and contributor. He was very level headed and even handed. I've bumped heads with him a couple of times, and he never seemed to hold grudge.

I am shocked to hear of this. I have only ever interacted with David electronically over many years, but I will miss him. He has contributed greatly to calibre, maintaining the Kobo drivers and many plugins as well helping numerous people in these forums. Whenever I interacted with him, I found him to be knowledgeable and helpful and patient, an example to us all.

Rest In Peace, you made the world a better place.

How very sad! Such a generous contributor of skills, knowledge and help here, and of course his excellent Calibre plugins. The hole his passing leaves here makes me think of the much greater void in the lives of his loved ones. I hope they can find some comfort in reflecting on how much his life helped others.

Extremely sad. I always paid particular attention to any post bearing his name. I found him to be the most knowledgeable and the most helpful of all contributors - though many others are helpful too. Mobileread won't be the same without him.

I don't recall ever having interacted with the man mersonally, but his passing puts me in mind of the quote by John Donne

I'm so sorry to hear this. He was such a wonderful resource to us all on this forum, always willing to help anyone who needed assistance and pointing in the right direction. He will be missed tremendously.
