I use several news apps to keep up to date with the news. Most of those are good when it comes to notifications, only sending one out with breaking news. But one app, from a newspaper, pushes notification of not that important news. This morning I got a notification about how the government is going to look into if it's possible to limit the noise levels at concerts and such to prevent hearing loss.

To make it worse, the majority of the time the newspaper sends out notifications for articles that are behind their pay wall. So even if you're interested in reading a story, you can't unless you subscribe.

I turned off notifications for now, let's see if it sticks. I wouldn't put it past them to switch on notifications with the next update (like Pinterest did recently).

I am really sad. I found my parrot dead in a pool of her blood. Bled to death out of her mouth. I don't know if I accidentally poisoned her or if there was a stomach tumor perhaps? I will never know but it makes me so sad.

OH I'm so sorry! How on earth could she have been accidentally poisoned? Does your vet offer necropsies?

Oh well. Today is the next round of eye surgery. Have to be at the hospital for 10:30 with surgery at 12:30

Surgery seemed to go fine. At least I'm now able to detect a watching hand in front of my face, and some bright lights again. (Phew that was close.. autocorrect changed the IN to job).

Actually just realized when my wife was applying eye drops I could see the eye dropper.. albeit very fuzzy. (Two different drops four times a day; one drop twice a day).

Had a follow up on Saturday where the surgeon seemed pleased with how things went and mentioned they'd also done something for the PCO. The pressure in the eye was also good.

Next check up is Wednesday.

On our first day of our vacation, last night, I managed to trip and fall. You have to go up a steepish ramp to get to the house, in front of the ramp is a row of paving stones about a foot square before the road starts. But the tarmac is a bit higher than the pavers. I managed to trip over the edge of the tarmac when we were heading out to dinner.

I now have a slightly bruised left knee, but I expected to be very stiff this morning but that wasn't the case. I've also got a bruise on each hand, and it looks like my right hand and shoulder to the brunt of the fall, because those are sore this morning.

Otherwise, the cottage is lovely. I think it's my favourite rental so far.
