Kind of got snippy at someone. summary of the conversation:

Them: (posts picture of physical books) I'm only missing two from the series!
Me: They're available as eBooks on Amazon and Kobo!
Them: But I want them as books!
Me: ...but eBooks are books?

Let's face it, at a certain point, sex scenes are just boring. They are. Sure, there's prurience and titillation for some (I man, come ON, the GOT TV show, for cripes sakes? There was practically a gynecological examination in each episode), but...it's rarely done "well" in print.

I hate to disagree but while I enjoy the In Death books, the sex scenes are pretty tame compared to others I have read. Not to mention that they are a married couple so I would somewhat expect them to enjoy hiding the pickle.

Considering some of the books my wife has read where the book opens with two strangers jumping into the nearest bed, available piece of furniture or against the nearest convenient vertical surface? Generally with a very graphic description of the scene. And many of these were supposedly set in eras where a woman was expected to be a virgin for the wedding night. The type of books that she describes as porn for women. Why she seems to think I will enjoy reading them is an example of the inscrutable mind of a woman.

What was it Miss Marple said? Can't remember the exact quote but to the effect that when she was younger, sex was not talked about as much but there was plenty of sex but and seemed to be enjoyed far more.

With the In Death books, if you don't want to read the sex scene, it's quite easy to skip. But they are short enough that if they don't bother you enough, you can read through them.

I don't read other books that have sex scenes. Just not the type of books I enjoy.

I've seen considerate fanfic authors mention in the author's note where the scenes start and end so that the reader knows exactly what to skip.
