Is there a way to completely reset my Job Spy settings and start over from scratch? I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but it didn't quite seem to take. Just upgraded to Calibre 6 and want to start out with a clean slate.

1) Uninstall 2) shut down Calibre 3) Go to the configuration folder: remove the Job_spy FOLDER and JSON (if present) Start Calibre: Install a fresh download of JobSpy( Preferences:Get Plugins) |

Would not just deleting the JSON file while Calibre is not running do without the need to uninstall and reinstall JobSpy?

Does Job Spy leave anything in metadata.db? If so, it may necessitate an entirely new library -- and I'm not sure that 'copy structure' wouldn't also copy over the JS settings.

Don't think so, nothing in my metadata_db_prefs_backup.json files.
In addition to the .zip and .json in <config>/plugins, there is also a 'job_spy' folder, with some .TXT files and doco files in a 'resources' sub folder Quote:

The Original Post has a section re: permanently removing all traces of JS from your ecosystem. Simple to follow.

I just found that shortcut list is missing some shortcuts.
Not sure whether I did a bad testing last time (see post 358/362) or the behaviour is new. Anyhow not very important. Perhaps to put on your list for the next update. I miss the following (not sure about the correct naming, as mine are in German) ‐ metadata and title download ‐ reading list, add to ... ‐ open template testwindow |

Would it be possible to add Per Library tweaks for two Look & Feel->Tag browser settings:

The Tag Browser has its many tendrils in many places in Calibre, including the Server. I am loath to touch it. The requested changes would need to be implemented simultaneously by both Chaley and Kovid. DaltonST |

This might be because I have too many libraries, but because I am trying to go through my columns I attached every library on my computer and tried to use Job Spy to get a list of the columns in all of them. Problem is that when I go to paste the clipboard to excel the columns are kind of mixed up.
Some column data in some rows is duplicated in the wrong column, some rows have data that has been cut and is in the next column. However, Like I said I have about 120 libraries I am checking, but the GUI in Calibre doesn't show any problems, it just comes out when I try to paste the clipboard. I am going to roll back to a previous version until I know what it is. I really need those columns. |

If you are using the GUI Utility Tool: Create Matrix of All Custom Columns used in All Libraries then maybe you need to Autofit the columns in Excel, it's in Home->Cells->Format.

Tab-delimited or comma-delimited, I forget which, but the wrong choice upon Paste into a spreadsheet is ugly. Choose wisely.
