At first I didn't realize it might be my allergy, I though it was dry skin. So I put on some lotion. Which of course didn't work. After an hour it I realized it was my allergy and after taking the antihistamines the itching disappeared within 15 minutes.

So I'm back on Cetirizine until the weather cools down, I'll probably play it safe and take them until the end of September.

I've read that climate change is extending the allergy season.

RE forum use, I hate when someone posts about a problem, there is much discussion and the problem is eventually solved. Then someone else turns up late, apparently reads only the first post, and answers with a suggestion that has already been posted and dismissed as incorrect.

I feel your pain, @Darqref. This year has seen a bumper crop on the West Coast. Not great for someone with a definite twinge of arachnophobia.

Yee hah (not). Had my eye checkup again today which included an injection. Seems that again there are issues in the eye. The plan right now is for another vitrectomy with possibly silicon oil being used. (No idea if that is long term or not.)

Have another followup next week when the decision will be made; but they've already started the paperwork for surgery.

Also mention of PCO (Posterior capsule opacification) in the eye which a bit of googling looks to be related to cataract surgery (yep; been there, got the tee shirt) and looks to be correctable via laser.

Our oldest son flies back to South Korea early tomorrow morning. It's been so great having him home, and having all of our kids and grandkids here at the same time last week. I hate that he's going back over there, and really hope he comes back to the states at the end of this 12 month contract.

My BIL continues to lose ground, hospice brought the bed this week for him. He is still considered "stable" but he is taking very little nourishment now, maybe 1 Ensure a day, and his pain med needs are increasing. He was down to 150 pounds as of August 10th, which was about 20 pounds down in 2 weeks. I've been making calls about setting up a "after funeral lunch" which is just so much fun. I told their oldest daughter I would take care of it. We've not been there to see him since July 30th, they live 30 minutes from us, and they are trying to keep traffic in the house at a minimum. Plus I think my sister has more trouble keeping it together when people are there. They live in a dicey area also, and have limited parking for visitors.

So sorry to hear about Peter's ongoing eye issues and Deskisamess's brother-in-law. Peter, I hope your surgery will be successful, and Deskisamess, I hope your BIL is as comfortable as possible.
