The Dutch product listing has deep ocean blue in the name for the reader.

That said, it also seems to have the same part number as the black version, so who knows. Like I said, "information subject to change" until an official announcement is made.

Yes. But I kind of believe the Walmart listing as they show the cover.

Hey, I'm not saying that you're wrong. Blue for a reader is a bold choice. Would be cool though. We'll find out when there's an official announcement.

Although, didn't the Mini have different colors too, or was that just the covers or the backs?

The colors on the Mini were on the back. Bad place for them as they get lost when you have a cover.

In theory, I prefer a 6" screen. I remember I never liked reading trade paperbacks and in my mind a 7" screen is about that size.

Though when I saw the new Paperwhite in person, the screen didn't look that bad which has me second guessing the Libra 2.

Really right now I'm just keeping my money in my pocket and looking forward to the release of the Clara 2. When it comes time to buy a new reader I'll have to juggle the two. Buttons are nice, though buttons on the Libra 2 have been complained about. If I buy the Libra 2 mostly based on my button lust, how mad will I be if the buttons suck?

Wrong!

110 is the width. 159.6 is the height. 8.35 is the thickness.

I would say all the measurements on the Kobo website, for every eink ereader, are for portrait orientation. You seem to be applying the numbers willy nilly.

The Sage buttons are a bit buggy. The Libra buttons are ok, if one manages to remember that only the outer ends of the buttons are really pressable, not the inner parts.

I never liked trade paperbacks either, because they were heavy and uncomfortable to hold. That isn't true for 7'' readers.

EDIT: Just realized that this particular cover may go all the way to the screen. So the Clara 2E could be black. If this cover is that "protective" I would probably like it.

Agreed. 2E = "second edition." I don't think the covers would be marketed "2E" while the Reader would be named simply "2." You've got to consider the source of this "news."

While the above is almost certainly true, "goldfinch" would be such a delightfully whimsical name, a real point of difference

The Libra 2 is more like a MMPB because of the squarish design. The PW5 is more like a TB due to it's rectangular design.

The thing is, if you've not tried a larger screen reader, you won't know what you are missing and you may find you like the larger screen. 1" doesn't sound like all that much of a difference, but it is noticeable.

I see no reason to complain about the buttons on the Libra 2. I've tried them and they work with no problem.

Dimensions are given in HxWxD. That why Kobo has it wrong. They are not given in WxHxD. The numbers are not in the correct order.

Then your initial post with the Libra 2 is wrong. Or you are inconsistent with your dimension conventions.

For the Libra 2, you used W x H x D.
For the Clara HD, you used H X W X D.
