How can I create a virtual library based on number of books in a series?

Just to manage my library better I want to create virtual libraries for single books (which is easy enough) and based on number of books in a series, like 2,3,4 or more. For example, all series with 3 books in a virtual library named Trilogy. Is there a way to do that? Thanks in advance!

I don't think it can be done on the fly. (each book record is like a sheet of paper. That sheet knows nothing about any othe sheets in the bundle)

But wait, there may be a different way
Have you looked at the Tag Browser: Series (section) There are numbers there.
Guess what. That is the count of members (that does respect any VL in effect, so my to read view may only show 1, while the full Library view shows 12)
But wait there is still MORE (sorta )
If you use the settings icon at the bottom of the tag browser: Sort by number of books. That groups those with the same number that you saw, before. (the groups follow the when to group size preference).
Note the order within the expanded group is biased alphabetically

I think it's possible with some of the newer template functions, but I expect it'd be kind of slow.

User Categories might be helpful for this purpose, though you'll need to manually add the series to them.

Yes thanks someone shared a template on Reddit for this purpose but calibre just cannot get through it, and hangs whenever I enter the code and press ok to create the library.

Yeah manually is the option but I have like 3000+ book series so that's impossible for me. Anyway it wasn't something that I really need, I thought I'll ask and see if it's possible. Thanks for your response 😊

Yes that's the method I'm currently using just wanted to check if there's a simpler easier way to do it. Since I saw there are library options based even on book ratings and size so thought there might be for series too. Thanks for helping out!
