No, I didn't leave it in testing long enough and missed a mistake.

Let me know if this version works for you.

Hi, does this plugin work for PocketBook readers? If so, how do you find the reading list on your device? I found my "readnext" list under "Collections" however no stories were listed.

I thought when I synced my list to my device I'd get a list on the device? I think I may be missing something in regards to how this plugin works. Or I did something wrong.

I'd appreciate any and all help in figuring this out.

Thanks,
Amalthia

The books are sent to the device but the list itself is not. If you have a jailbroken Kindle, the plugin can create collections but I don't think that is done for any other devices. Using a Kobo ereader, you could add the books to a collection and that would allow the books to be placed in that collection but I don't have a Pocketbook device so not certain if calibre collections are supported.

In Pocketbook the calibre tags show up as "genre" on the device. There is a collections option, but I think you can from the device add items to the collection.

That's a good question. I never tested it since I found that my tags showed up in the "genre" area of Pocketbook. Investigating now.

Okay I looked around a bit and it seems like the only columns in calibre that map to anything in pocketbook are "tags -> genres," and "series -> series."

You can add things to the "collections" on pocketbook manually.

At this point, for Pocketbook readers, it looks like the "Reading List" plugin is mostly useful within calibre to see what I want to read next for users. I could use that to manually tag the stories I plan to read next and it'll create a new genre on the device.

The Reading List plugin only manages reading lists in calibre. It has function to send books to the device, but, does not actually do anything on the device. All it does is queue the books to be sent to the device. After that, it is the driver doing things.

For some devices, collections on the device can be managed through the driver (the KoboTouch driver is probably the most flexible for this) or a separate plugin (as mentioned above for Kindle). And other devices create collections from the folder structure (such as the tolino).

I know almost nothing about the PocketBook. I can see there are no collection management options in the drivers. Maybe the device can create them using the tags or other metadata. If so, a Reading List can set a value in a column when the book is added. That value will be in the metadata when the book is sent to the device and can be used there. Depending on exactly what you can see on the device, you might be able to use a metadata plugboard to set fiddle with the metadata when sending it to the device.

Collections on a Pocketbook can be managed from the computer. So it can be done from Calibre if someone wants to write the code and add it to the driver. There is a program to manage collections from a computer.

https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=334784

The source code is available so if you can find someone to write the code in Python for Calibre, then it would work.

I'll see if I can have the "Reading List" plugin add a tag for "to be read next" to my tags. I think that may be the easiest way going forward.
