Sideloaded books are having their covers replaced by Amazon's server
Hi all,

Well aware this is a very known problem, but I thought it was resolved recently by Calibre. Is that no longer the case?

Currently I'm syncing KFX to my PW5 and when online, the Kindle replaces the covers with Amazon's default.

I have latest calibre and KFX plugin version, I see the warning. So I don't think it is fixed (apart from plugging in again so it gets changed back).

That said, with the book I tried it with, if it is getting changed I wouldn't know, because it started life in Amazon and I didn't change the cover.

After the covers are replaced, plug your Kindle back into your Calibre library and let Calibre fix the covers.

I wonder why Amazon would do this? I can't come up with any reason that would benefit them.

Take an EPUB in my calibre library convert to KFX
Transfer to Kindle via calibre and a USB cable

What am I missing please

does calibre have the amazon/asin ID filled in? Kindle gets the covers based on those.
