Kindle -- KOReader: a document reader for PDF, DJVU, EPUB, FB2, HTML, ... (GPLv3)

I notice on the PW5, when the Page Turn Animations are on, the "flash on chapter boundaries" setting doesn't work in KOReader. Not that I mind, since I don't notice any ghosting at all nowadays, but interesting still.

Also when the Page Turn Animations are on, occasionally I find a seemingly random area of the page to become seriously "weathered" looking after doing some sort of UI operation (dictionary lookups?). Haven't figured out the exact repro steps yet.

I copied a few books to my Kindle from Calibre. I can see those books in the Kindle's default view, I can't the same in Koreader. Whats the default location?

In KOReader, under Home > Documents I see the directory `Rowling, J.K` but the directory is empty.

btw these files are azw3. may be thats why?

I don't know for sure about the location on Kindle, but azw3 indeed won't show up. There's a "show unsupported files" toggle somewhere in the file browser settings (leftmost icon, settings). Of course then they still won't open, or at least not properly.

I have a jailbroken Kindle PW5. I followed this KOReader installation guide.
The problem is, I can't start KOReader.
I go to KUAL on my book list, then KOReader, then Start KOReader and that's it - when I tap it in the menu, nothing happens.

Can someone please advise?

Seems like you have Kindle Touch (Gen 1). In this case, you need to install KOReader with this name: koreader-kindle-v2022.06.zip , from here, for example: https://github.com/koreader/koreader...s/tag/v2022.06

Yes, that's exactly what I did. I put extensions and koreader folders (from the koreader-kindle-v2022.06.zip file) in the root folder of my Kindle.

Those are synonyms but to avoid any confusion, let's say I copied the zip to the root folder/directory of my Kindle, right clicked the file and selected "Extract here".

Is it possible to connect the KoReader to internet but that it stays of in the Kindle Software. I have a PW5, and if the Kindle gets internet it will update automaticly.

Because adding books is now so difficult, you need to exit KoReader and go connect it to the pc

OK, then could you please provide logs from Kindle? If you have USB Network working, that’s a “showlog -f” command in the terminal, while you are trying to start KOReader. Then just copy all the output from the terminal window and put it here (under a spoiler, or a text file, preferably)

You already have KUAL installed, so just install the update blocking extension. I have it, turned it on, and I’ve never worried about the PW5 updating automatically.
