Granted--this was a while back and I stopped working with firms about...15 years ago now. But for decades, man...it was always the women that were stuck carrying the stuff. Perhaps it was also that nearly every time, it was a female associate with a male partner. I admit I'm a purse ho. I've carried the same Coach bag for about 20, 25 years now, LOL. I'm a bit believer in "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." Of course, until recently, I was also driving a 20+ y.o. car as well. Hitch |

That’s why god invented baggies, by which term I’m both dating myself and Yankifying myself, no doubt. But in short, grab a sandwich-sized sealable plastic bag and stuff it with wipes. Even if you can find a small pack of wipes in the store, it doesn’t pay.

The idea of using ziplock baggies is great. We have some bigger ones we use in the store so I'll pinch a couple of those today. The temperature prediction for Monday is slightly better, 23/24C, than it was, 27/28C. Hopefully it'll drop a couple of degrees more. |

Just back from a short shopping trip, and the day is already almost unbearably hot.We have been warned of a potential heatwave, and so far it looks as though it will happen!

I feel ya. I have to run 55 miles--55 miles!--of errands today and it's already 94F. It will gain another 10 degrees or so today. they're all drugstore errands--our particular prescriptions suffer supply chain issues, so I am going to two different sides of town, literally, to hit 3 different drugstores. It's infuriating.

My sister and I still haven't book our two week vacation in September.
I had found a park that looked nice and has cottages with a washing machine and a dryer (a requisite for a two week vacation). But my sister found out you can't park your car at the cottage, except on Monday and Friday when people leave and arrive. I thought if we keep that in mind with the heavy shopping it wouldn't be big deal, but it is for my sister. So I just made a list of all the 4-6 person cottages on the Dutch Landal parks that offer both a washing machine/dryer and parking next to or nearby the accommodation. It's a four page list. I emailed the link to my sister, now it's up to her to narrow down where she wants to go and if they got still have the cottage available in September for two weeks. I'm now waiting for my lunch to be delivered. Not sure what I'm going to do between customers now. I'm not (yet) in the mood for either The Sims or Dorfromantik. I might see if anything needs tidying up in Calibre, it's been a while since I did that. |

Preparing for a busy-ish Sunday.
I'm going to do all the chores I normally spread out over Sunday and Monday, since I'm going on a day out with my sister tomorrow. So I'll have to do all the cleaning and laundry today. My father and sister are going to my aunt and uncle's party to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary. My mother's back can't deal with sitting in the car twice for an hour. So my sister joins my father, that way she can keep an eye on him and drive home if necessary. I was also invited, but I just can't deal with a lot of people I don't know (my uncle's got 7 siblings), for six hours and no chance of retreating (it's on a boat). So I thank my aunt for the invite, but told her I'll keep my mother company. My aunt was miffed, but then everything I do and say get her miffed it seems. Tonight I'm going to my sister, so we can see how late we leave tomorrow. It all depends on if the farmers are blocking roads again, as they have done off and on over the past two weeks. Tonight my mother and I are ordering take out, something my father doesn't like. And we're going to watch the Formula 1 together. But first I'll have to get my bike out of where I store it and put it in the store before the door of the side entrance is blocked by the tables and chairs of the restaurant next to it. I'm not in the mood today to get into a discussion about how they should make sure we can enter and exit when needed. |

I just do my best to ignore her and keep as far away as possible. Unfortunately she won't do the same. If she keeps this up I will get to a point when I tell her exactly what I think. Even if that causes drama in the family. I've got enough WhatsApp messages to show people how she has behaved lately. Also, I won't pick up my phone when she calls again. I know she will ring the landline, but I'll let my parents pick up (thank God for number recognition). For now I'm focusing on having fun tonight and tomorrow. I'm now basically waiting for the message that my father and sister are on the way back. I'm really looking forward to tomorrow (despite the warm temperature). It's been four years since we've been to the Efteling and I really need a fun day out. |

I did, we arrived around noon and left at 8pm. We didn't do all the rides we wanted to, some had really long lines during the day and by the time the wait wasn't too long we were too tired. So we might go again after the summer school vacation.
It was busy, but not too busy. The weather was good, a little bit cooler than predicted (which we didn't mind) because of more clouds and a nice breeze. I now realize more than ever that I'm getting older; despite a good night's sleep I'm still tired and have some sore muscles. Hopefully it won't be too busy in the store today, with the predicted temperatures I'm not expecting a lot of customers, but you never know. |

Sitting on the couch trying to decide if it's easier to watch the second resident evil movie or read the next Ciaphus Cain book. Decisions, decisions, decisions...
