Moving library (pw4 to pw5)
I just got the PW5 (new paperwhite) and am giving my PW4 to my child. Question is can I transfer my library over (copy and paste), all side-loaded from Calibre, and keep reading progress and such? It isn't registered as it is jailbroken and refuse to turn on wifi.

Unrelated. I was unaware that librariansync doesn't work yet for the pw5 or I may have stayed with the previous model until it did.

If the firmware versions are close enough on the kindles, then copying the bookname.sdr directories should preserve reading progress, etc.

same firmware, 5.14.2, I wasn't even aware of the file I would have needed lol. Thank you sir. I guess I assumed reading progress was book specific and kept with each book. Your assistance is appreciated.

It is. Each bookname.azw3 file (book) has a bookname.sdr directory. Book progress and other items are in the files in that directory.
