I know about this offer. I read Releases before Installation, but found nothing about Windows 8.1. And W8.1 have Support from Microsoft and get montly Updates. Was there a notification for not running on W8.1?

Qt6 won't run on Windows 8 because the maintainers do not feel support is worth their time and effort. So unless you run Windows 10 or 11, you won't be able to run Calibre 6.

This has been fixed already in the GitHub repo of the currently maintained fork of DeDRM. Here is the comment that describes how to download a build from GitHub that has the patch before the next official release:

Microsoft is ending all support for Windows 8.x in January 2023, so you only have 6 months left.

Not sure if this has been reported for 6.0, but the font used in the log window (at least for FFF) of books added/not updated are hard to read - they are ?rasterized? extremely thin compared to older versions.

I have been using 5.44 downloaded from here. Did you install Qt6 first? If not, how is Calibre 6.0 working? If so, how did you get Qt6 installed? I don't see Qt6 in the mint/ubuntu repositories.

Do you have the DeDRM plugin installed and is it working? I have seen references to problems with it in this thread. In addition to this one I have the DeACSM and Hyphenate-this plugins installed and would need them all working before I could move from 5.44 here.
