I was thinking about this some more, and I think capink may have mistaken what the issue they saw was -- I don't think it was about Qt.Checked vs Qt.CheckState.Checked, I think it was the fact they were using the state as passed in when called from a connect()'ed event vs checking the checkbox variable.

The version capink attached in the post above still uses setCheckState(Qt.Unchecked) not setCheckState(Qt.CheckState.Unchecked), in the same function.

Plus, I'm not seeing any issues when I try various things, and the fact there aren't any other reported problems with the cal6 beta in these plugins.

So I don't think we need to worry about changing check states everywhere.

I was trying to say.
Some visual (modified Icon) indication there is a permanent sync set up that 'keeps putting a book back' seems to pop up fairly often.

eg Kovid changes the colors of the sharing over the net icon when the server is running

I don't use this PI (and don't code python)

You mean changing the icon when there's books available for syncing? That would be helpful for me, too.

Hi Kiwidude, thanks for your work on this great add-on to Calibre.

I've been using for years the 1.6.6 version of Reading List, because I modified the code in order to get something in it to work more suitably for me.

Now I can't remember what that modification was, so I'd need to do a text diff between this 1.6.6-custom and the 1.6.6-original version of the plugin.

Could someone point me where to find the 1.6.6 version? Or maybe provide it as an attachment here...

(then, on a later opportunity, I hope to get the latest version to function the same way that modified version would work for me...)

I can't remember clearly what my modification was, but it gave me the possibility of adding multiple clones of the Favourites Plugin to the menu toolbar, and within that Favourites menus I had a lot of easily acessible populated searches created on Reading List... something like that.)

If you are running Calibre 6, 1.6.6 may not work.

The closest I can have is 1.6.9. From the history, it probably isn't that different from what you have. The changes are mainly for Python 3 compatibility.

Also, check the timestamps of the files inside the zip. Hopefully your modified ones will have a newer timestamp than the rest.

I found this on the wayback machine. The internal version says it is V1.6.6. I can't vouch for it other than to say that the wayback machine is usually reliable.

FYI, when I started maintaining Reading List I dropped it into a git hub repo. And 1.6.6 was the first version saved:

But I expect the version chaley posted is the same, and conveniently already zipped up.

Will look into that later and hopefully I can still figure out, after all these years, how that customization was achieved...

BTW, @jon, I missed the 5 minute window to edit my post, otherwise it would be more clear that I have inadvertently updated Reading List to its latest version on Calibre 6.1.
