Android phones and Tablets don't really sleep in the same sense as Kobo, Kindle, Sony, Nook etc eink ereaders. The Android based eink tablets are using a very custom Android that nearly sleeps and it's much higher power consumption than custom Linux Kindle, Kobo or pre-T1 Sony. The Mars Android eInk goes flat quite fast when asleep. It needs powered off if not in use.
I have to remember to turn off WiFi on my tablet or a notification can wake it. The phone Mobile interface is alive and wakes the phone if there is a call or SMS. If the Pixel 6 shows ANYTHING, it's not asleep. I think by default Android just pauses foreground processes and blanks the screen, it's not a real "sleep".
