Yes it follows that. The video does mention a side grip. Just because the guy in the video isn't holding it as you'd expect does not mean the side grip does not work like it does on other Readers.

You can change the buttons so the top button is page page forward and the bottom is page back.

I know, but that would be a lot more difficult (I hold my ereaders by a lower corner).

You could use a Bluetooth clicker. That's what I always use even with my 6" Poke3.

Then I'd have to hold two devices. I usually read on my sofa and hold my reader in one hand. The sofa table is too far for comfortable reading (I'm very nearsighted).

The side with the buttons looks like it would be uncomfortable to hold because of those angles. I could be wrong on that of course. But in their own promo video, their model doesn't hold it as you would expect.

Just because the guy doesn't hold the Era the "right way," it doesn't follow that it can't be held and used with one hand. Personally this would not be an issue for me because I almost always hold my readers (even my Kobo Mini) with two hands, like a book (old habits die hard, I guess).

That's not uncommon. Sony did the same thing (sort of) by having someone hold the Reader in a way that I would find uncomfortable.

If I buy one of these I'll buy a case anyhow (and not the one they show in the video, but one that actually holds and protects the reader).

Yeah, but those buttons on the side are not what you use while reading anyhow. Normally, while reading, you would just use that five way button combo in the lower right corner.

Sure. But looking at the design of the Oases and the Libra, it is clear how they are to be held and used. The same doesn't appear to be true of the Era. If you saw someone holding a Libra or Oasis like that, they would look dumb.

Incidentally, it's not that I am reading too much into what a model did in a promo video. Before that was out I thought that the 'handle' side didn't look like it would be as comfortable to hold as the other two. Then the video came out and it would seem I'm not the only one that felt that way.

We'll see what happens when there are some hands on videos.

Basically it's the same as the current PocketBook readers, except the buttons are on the side instead of on the bottom. If I do read with one hand on my PocketBook, I just hold my thumb on the bezel and slide it down to hit the page turn button (I would move my thumb sideways on the Era instead). Or I could move my thumb the other direction and just tap the screen.

EDIT: I just tested this and find that, the natural way for me if I'm using one hand is to rest my thumb just between the button and the bezel, so it's just a slight shifting movement of the thumb to press the page turn button.

Aren't there page turn buttons on the right side of the reader (that looks like a Sony PRS 505)? Aren't page turn buttons directly under the persons right thumb in the picture?
