That is also my experiences with FW 4.30 and 4.32: touchscreen activity (sometimes quick multiple touches) can invoke a Libra 2 "hang" (=not responding to touchscreen and/or buttons). Pressing (and holding) the on/off button (I do not have a sleep cover) normally fixes this. Sometimes a reboot might happen. Never had a DB corruption though (I checked this).

I get the impression that the Libra 2 entered into some infinite loop awaiting for I/O activity, which never occurs.

The previous firmware I used was 4.30. 4.31 has too many problems and I never did install it.

The crashes may have been due to custom fonts. I removed them. If they continue, I will recommend she update to 4.32. Thanks all.

No crashes with 4.30 or 4.32.

Experienced a complete freeze yesterday right after I synced 20+ articles from Pocket; restarted with power button worked, as usual, and the articles had all actually been synced. Have also experienced a couple of freezes while reading (KePubs). Firmware 4.32.

You can now install 4.33. If you don't want to wait for a sync to happen, you can manually install 4.33.

You can get the 4.33 from https://pgaskin.net/KoboStuff/kobofirmware.html for your Kobo.

To manually install the firmware...
1. Download the firmware for your specific Kobo
2. Plug the Kobo into the computer's USB port
3. UnZip the firmware ZIP file to the .kobo directory on your Kobo
4. Eject the Kobo
5. Wait until the screen changes and then unplug the USB cable
6. Wait for the firmware to update
7. When you are back to the home screen, you are done

Thanks for the hint about the sleep cover: found that was all I needed to fix a hang with dictionary open. Quicker than a restart.
