Override CSS with Patch(es)?

I'm exclusively reading kepubs sideloaded via the Extended Touch Driver in Calibre. I'm pretty new to Kobo, and I've been noticing that my settings from one book often look quite different in another book. I'm talking font size, line spacing and margins.

I'm assuming this has something to do with the embedded CSS, but I may well be wrong. In any case, I've been browsing through a list of Kobo patches, but I'm not sure which among them would work to get consistent formatting.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

TIA

The right direction is to edit the CSS/HTML in Calibre or Sigil. There's no way to standardize other then code editing.

You could throw out the baby with the bath water by disabling the CSS and enabling force user font family using the Kobopatch options. There was also an old utility that removed CSS stylesheets and inline styles from an epub. Might as well be reading a text file but it would be bog standard.

That would be like dropping a hand grenade down a toilet to unblock a clogged pipe.

Thanks for pointing out Calibre and Sigil and options.
