2. Type ;enter_demo in the Kindle search bar after performing a factory reset
3.Reboot the device using pw11. do I click enter after typing ;enter_demo? or type it and reboot? and reboot via long long power button hold? or choose restart after a shorter click? anyway, I tried all options I could think of and I'm never seeing any indication it is in Demo mode? or how do I know? thanks |

I somehow managed it.
I used the shorter version from some comment above. anyway, gratitude for the hackers. and suggestion to get help from a non-hacker in writing instructions ![]() Quote:

Odd question, but I have a Kindle Paperwhite 6, but it appears to share the model and firmware with the PW2. I can confirm the PW6 exploit worked on the PW6, 5.12.2.2. Was this device just a re-release? Black friday or something?

Has anyone got SSH working after the jailbreak? I'm timing out on Kindle PW5.

I had the same problem while being on 12.2.2. After retrying I saw that i had previously let out step 8 of the Jailbreak section. Now it works fine

Hello, I have a 5.14.0 PW5. Do I have to update manualy to 5.14.1.1 in order to jailbreak ? I never have any issue with 5.14.0...!

@arb: You have to update your PW5. Look at the first post from katadelos' spoiler
![]() KT3, KT4, KOA1, KOA2, KOA3, PW3, PW4, PW5: 5.14.2 5.14.1 (5.14.1.1 on PW5) 5.13.7 5.13.6 5.13.5 5.13.4 and: 3. Copy ${YOUR_DEVICE}-${YOUR_FW_VERSION}.zip to .demo/ the files in watchthis-jailbreak-r03-zip for PW5 are only for FW 5.14.1.1 and 5.14.2. |

I have the following problem, at step 8. After completing steps 1 to 7, I only see the screen saver and the message at the bottom of the screen: "This demonstration device is either missing content or is disconnected from the network". Underneath it says "CONFIGURE DEVICE" in capital letters, but tapping the text does not change anything.
I tried the "secret gesture", but can't get out of this screen saver to get to the search box again or to activate the network. What can I do now except unscrew the Kindle and connect it via serial port? Would greatly appreciate any help. |
