Hopepunk is an oxymoron. It doesn't work. It's either hope or punk but not both.

I need to read more Nathaniel Hawthorne. I really enjoyed The Scarlet Letter and House of the Seven Gables. I also remember enjoying Dr. Heidegger's Experiment when I read it in junior high, though now I don't remember it.

That poem also seems to describe all pre-sixties fantasy and most post-sixties fantasy. Do we need a subgenre that just describes the overall genre?
