Yeah, I feel ya. Without hijacking your rant, I was recently given some meds that caused a fungal infection that was horribly painful. Now we're trying to find a substitute for this--rotsa ruck. (Scooby-Doobie Doo!).

Sorry for your suffering and why is it this crap always seems to happen on weekends? It's like pet injuries--without fail, my cats seem to have the "5:15 on a Friday night" injury or medical issue superpower. (sigh).

Ah well. Now changing one eye drop to hourly during waking hours, adding in an eye ointment and another followup on Friday.

At least no injections today. There was some mention that surgery might be an option to clean out the eye, but the main Surgeon would like to avoid that.

Told it will likely be 3 to 4 weeks for things to heal.

I hate public restroom sinks that don't allow adjustment of the water temperature, and it's set way too hot. I have dry skin prone to eczema and the combination of the too-hot water and antibacterial soap is really hard on my hands.

Though obviously this is nowhere near the level of Peter's injection infection issue! I sure hope your eye gets back to normal.

Ah well. No real change today but ... no appointment till next Thursday! And no more oral antibiotics, just tons of eye drops and an ointment.

I've started the paper work for short term disability from work (after 10 sick days one has to move to short term).

In two weeks' time my sister and I are on our weekend away to the woods. We're leaving on Friday evening and returning on Tuesday morning. Which means that the store is closed on Saturday and Tuesday. However, I found out that on the Thursday after our vacation it's Ascension Day, which in the Netherlands is a bank holiday for most people and the store's closed. My father readily agreed to also keep the store closed on Wednesday, so now I have six days off.

Yesterday I printed out some signs to put up around the store (door, window, counter). Most people don't react to it. But the reactions I did get were negative. One customer went on a tirade about how our opening times are too limited; we should be open 365 days a year, twelve hours a day (from 8 am until 8 pm). Was this a regular customer? Nope, he came on his annual trip to the store. Besides the tirade he acted like a d**k, so guess who paid a little more than normal customers.

I'm really looking forward to getting away for a couple of days of walking, watching movies and barbecuing. And, as my sister has said, it will be good for my parents (especially my father) to have to fend for themselves a couple of days. We're not going far, so in case of an emergency we can get back in about 30 minutes.

That’s good in a way as they obviously think things are improving though drops and ointment aren’t very nice to self administer. Keep at it, and look forward to hearing how things go on Thursday.
