I'd like some of Terry Pratchett's non diskworld books, especially Carpet People and the Bromeliad Trilogy.

Clive James has a great voice for narration. Did you ever see some of his stuff from the 80's, the Clive James Postcard From... "travel programs"? Funny, erudite and perceptive stuff. I've been going to buy the audio of Cultural Amnesia too. It's abridged, I think, but I also think it was something like 6 hours worth, so I'm not sure the abridgement will be all that damaging (he also has his Talking In the Library segments you can get via iTunes Podcast for nothing).

I've been hunting for an English translation of any of the works of Simone de Beauvoir. So far none of her books are available as ebooks and we'll all be dead before the US copyright expires on The Second Sex in 2066. The publisher seems to have the copyright locked up on it although they did finally agree, after decades of requests from academics and even Beauvoir herself to allow a new translation. The original one was reportedly pretty bad and it's an important piece of literature.

I'd love to see the Artemis Fowl series (Eoin Colfer). I think the later titles are available in ebook format in the UK, but I have yet to see it listed on any US based ebook retailer. It's not exactly a highly intellectual or spiritual read, but it sure is entertaining.

I've finally come to the conclusion...
ALL OF THEM!

Then it won't be an issue anymore.
Particularly, however, at the moment Dahlquist's 'The Dark Volume' and the new No.1 Ladies 'Tea Time for the Traditionally Built'. I'm hoping that for these particular titles it's just a matter of patience. The publishers weren't very helpful when I emailed them.

I've found that publishers are very seldom helpful with that kind of email, I've been sending a few myself. I managed to hopelessly confuse someone at St. Martin's Press day before yesterday when I called to find out a timeline on availability for some of their author's books in ebook formats. They ended up shunting me to the electronic textbook department.
I totally agree with your statement, though... I want EVERYTHING available.. NOW!!! (no one ever said patience was my strongest virtue....*grin*).
I thought I'd done my homework before buying my reader, but I am finding more and more incomplete series, or series that are not released in ebook formats at all. It's frustrating.

I would love to have all of Irving Stone's books made into ebooks. If you have never read them I highly recommend them. When he died in 1989 I felt that I had lost a true friend and was saddened to think that there were would never be another book from him to read.

Cheers to that. In middle school and high school I think I read 7 or 8 of his books, pulling them off my parents or grandparents bookshelves or the school library. Haven't read any in a long time but I have fond memories of learning much from them.

My requests -

Patrick O'Brian (the Aubrey-Maturin series)

Dorothy Dunnett (the Lymond Chronicles and The House of Niccolo)

Eliyahu Goldratt (The Goal)

Raymond E. Feist (The Riftwar Saga)

Robert Jordan (the Wheel of Time series)

John D. MacDonald (The House Guests, The Travis Magee series)

William Manchester (The Glory and the Dream: A Narrative History of America, 1932-1972)

Roger Caras (Dangerous To Man, A Dog Is Listening)

CJ Cherryh (the rest of the Compact Space and Alliance/Union series, and Devil to the Belt)

JRR Tolkien (The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings)

Adachi Mitsuru manga (Touch, H2, Katsu, Crossing Game)

Rumiko Takahashi manga (Maison Ikkoku)

Larry McMurtry (Lonesome Dove)

Tad Williams (Memory, Sorrow and Thorn series)

Harpo Marx (Harpo Speaks)

Michael LeBoeuf (GMP: The Greatest Management Principle)

Robert Ruark (Something of Value)

Edward O. Wilson (The Diversity of Life)

The Seventh Sword trilogy by Duncan is available over at Webscriptions (all three, multiple formats, no DRM, nice prices). They also have The Mote in God's Eye, along with the rest of the novels by Niven & Pournelle that take place in the CoDominium future history.

Sorry, can't help with the rest of the list.

I wonder why they didn't show up for me, I searched under Duncan and only saw the first Seventh Sword, and didn't see any of the Nivens except some Man/Xzin wars books I never loved. I didn't look in Webscriptions though, I didn't realize it had a different novel list.

Thanks!
