I am in the US and just received an email with the same code. Though it says for select books.

APR30 didn't work for me. So, I went back in the thread to try to find one that would work, and every time, it says "This promo code doesn't exist. Please check you've entered it correctly." I even tried a private window, but that didn't change anything.
Has anyone else seen this?

APR30 is Kobo Canada and only works on a specific list of books.

As for the other codes you’ve tried, they’re probably so old that they don’t register. In general, there aren’t nearly so many codes as there used to be; Kobo’s discounts now are mostly tied to their VIP program. And don’t forget that codes never work on books published by the Big 5 and their imprints.

yep, APR30 is available outside Canada, but on a (imo) meager and unappealing selection.

Kobo US is having a Mother’s Day promotion; buy a $20 gift card and get a $3 credit. Ends May 9.

These promotions don’t always work smoothly, but Kobo comes across ultimately. The nicest aspect is if you already have a credit balance of $20 or more, in which case it’s totally free money.

Haven’t checked Canada; Mother’s Day has passed in the UK but that doesn’t mean they won’t have a similar promotion.

ETA: Helpful hint, at least it would have saved me a few false attempts: Do not use a $ when entering the gift card amount.

^^The Canada deal is $10 bonus on $60; the Australia deal is $11 bonus on $65. No deal in the UK.

While the Canadian and Australian deals are more generous percentage-wise, I’m liking the lower outlay at the US store. Obviously mileage, both real and virtual in this case, will vary, depending on where you are and how much you might spend at any store.

For me it works. I have more than that in store credit, so I am just using that and putting both cards back into the same account.

A change in this is that during the purchase, this was shown:

Inspired by this, I went ahead and bought a $65 gift card after clicking on the promo link on the website. Exactly zero mention of the $11 at any stage of the process. The $65 card arrived and has now been applied to my account, but after your experience, I find the complete absence of any reference to the reward less than reassuring.
