@alyssatot: You need to enable Private Messaging. This is in the "Edit Options" of the control panel. If this isn't there, it has to be added somehow. You can try posting in https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=319819 to ask it to be enabled, or contact a moderator.

Also, holding the power button down for that time simply forces the device to turn off. It doesn't trigger a factory reset. For that follow the instructions on https://help.kobo.com/hc/en-us/artic...or-Kobo-Elipsa.

Hello everyone,

after a factory reset today I bricked my Kobo Clara. It is now stuck in a blank screen. When I keep the button pressed for some time the message restoring is happening. After a boot the screen stays blank. Reading the forum I do need the image.
Can you please sent this one?

Kobo Clara HD in endless boot loop
Good morning - I have a two year old refurbished Kobo Clara HD (N249). After a month or so of general flakiness, I did a series of syncs that each reported failure. Then a factory reset, which seems to succeed after 3-4 minutes, but then goes into an endless loop trying to reboot: The little blinking dots just keep on blinking, for up to two hours, the limit of my patience. I have repeated this sequence several times with no change.

Battery is good, fully charged, and charging. From the symptoms, I suspect that replacing the internal SD card with a fresh new image is probably my best path forward. I would be grateful to receive such an image. Thank you.

Hi, Yesterday my kobo clara hd got brick after update.

when trying to read from the sd card I got errors.
I have a replacement sdcard but i am looking for the image to put on the new card.

Can someone help please.

@davidfor, i see you are sending out a backup image for the kobo clara hd.

Could you plese send this to me ? i cant seem to reset nor boot my kobo clara hd(n249) ereader.

Its stuck on charging screen.
